good nib, and it has to fit my hand well

I love soft flexible nibs and I feel comfortable writing with them at least quickly, at least slowly, at least to draw. But sometimes magic happens and I like hard(rigid) nib too :)

Any chance that you'll be in Las Vegas anytime soon? Will you be at the San Francisco Pen Show? I don't have any trips planned to Kyiv in the near future, or even a trip to Europe; traveling during Covid-19 is best avoided in my opinion.

I'm sure that you could bring out the best that a Montblanc Calligraphy 149 has to offer.

Thanks Frank, it was a drawing joke :). Yes, now is such a time that think about the need to travel to a neighboring city, but don't even think about traveling abroad, especially to another continent :(.

I appreciate the effort that went into your drawing. I would like for you to be able to try (and buy) a Calligraphy 149.

I have "met" many nice, interesting people all over the world through FPN. I would love to travel to Kyiv to have a cup of coffee with you—or a shot of vodka. I enjoy your drawings and the stories behind them. I read the link provided with the drawing of the pretty lady above—you seem to enjoy drawing pretty women—I enjoy looking at them.

I have several Pelikan M101Ns. They are great pens. The story of grinding the nib the nib to UEF was interesting. I have noticed that many of my fountain pens have asymmetrical nibs. I guess this is just the result of modern mass production and subsequent lack of quality control.

I hope that you continue posting your drawings and background stories.

Thanks for all the wishes. Yes, I agree with you, mass production and cost reduction leave their mark on quality. I will definitely post something for a while times, because the world is full of wonders :). I hope that someday I will have the opportunity to try a Calligraphic nib.

Someone of the cheerful FPNers :)

ps: I love to draw not only beautiful girls, I just love to draw by fountain pens :)

pss: Yes, welcome to Kiev. I would love to drink coffee, but in this heat, lemonade is better. I do not drink vodka, maximum red wine - I am for a healthy lifestyle :)!

Thanks for the post cards and the gondoliere. At first, I thought he was Bono of U2; it must have been the glasses.

  • 2 weeks later...

When learning birds this was named the Audubon Warbler, from a picture I took this year, trying out Platinum Carbon ink for resistance to watercolor, this is a great ink for water resistance.

It's a very cool, Glen!

Platinum Carbon is the best black waterproof ink, especially for illustrators.

I really like all these pen and ink drawings. This one is reminiscent of John James Audubon's originals.

Thank you Andrew L, mizgeorge, and Frank C

This is a fun way to draw birds, you can still get fresh watercolors with the ink.
Interestingly we had just been to a museum to see an Audubon exhibit and I started drawing it before realizing (since its been known as the Yellow Rumped Warbler for a long time along with the “Myrtle”)  that this was the “Audubon’s” ha

I've always appreciated brutalist architecture. All the straight lines stand out in pen and ink drawings. Thanks for posting this.
