Quick sketch of a lion.

Hey, I'm glad I checked the ol' art gallery.

Good job! : )

Redrawing some doodles ....

This time using a technique of fatter outlines.

Drawn with a Danitrio Raw Ebonite EyeDropper with Parker Quink ink.

The black isn't black enough.

about 4 inches x 6 inches

http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u236/TMLee/ink%20sketches/FPCapsketch.jpg

Does anyone have a suggestion on what black inks to use that are :

1) waterproofed - can take washes

2) really black ?

My recent experience with PR Ultra Black wasn't good.

I noticed it gushed on a few occasions.

I'd recommend Platinum Carbon Black... combined with a Namiki, here's the result:

Question for the artists who post such beautiful work on this thread. . .

I like to send postcards with images I find on the web printed on the card. I do not sell them and usually acknowledge the artist when possible. To be clear, I have NOT used any images from this website to date so the following request is asking permission for future usage, not forgiveness for past usage.

I am requesting permission to use the art from this thread to put on cards for personal, non-commercial use to be sent by me to FPN members (postcard exchange, etc.), friends, family, etc. Again, I would not sell them or profit in any way (though could potentially give some away to a family member in the future). I would also acknowledge the artist my moniker and FPN website.

If you have strong feelings either way, or would like to specifically grant/deny permission, please PM me personally to make sure I actually get the message (lest I overlook it in the thread).

Much of the art here is beautiful and deserves to be appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Jerry Palmer

:eureka: What a wonderful idea! I've just begun to craft my own postcards and send them to FPN members (all of my correspondence is with FPN members) and I would love to do the same. Could you let us know what the response is, please?

Perhaps the artists could create a forum for any images they would let FPN members use in this manner? Just an idea............. :D

Thanks!

The thought is nice but I think I would have to pass, I'm not to comfortable with not having control of the quality of the images etc. I draw for a living and to be able to do that I have to put limits on reproductions.

Anyway here's some new images made while flying to and from the UK earlier this week. Made with my Namiki Falcon (the pen almost handles flying, I had some problems while flying home though)

Hope you have better luck with other posters

Me likes the Falcon too. Your work has an almost baroque look to it. Very unique.

Meanwhile, snail mail friend sent me a free bow & arrow set, but with no sight on it.

I didn't aim low enough 'barebow' & hit the backyard fence.

"Thunk!"

That accident inspired the following cartoon.

Caveat: It's a cartoon. It's not real. IRL, getting your girlfriend angry with you can lead to serious consequences.

Personal injury... Hospitalization...

And that's before you have time to call the police to come rescue you! (kidding)

Listy Stuff:

----

Pelikan M605 (demo) - w/ xxxx/f nib ; Esterbrook "J" pen -

w/1550 (xxf) nib. Parker 'Challenger' (f) semi-flex nib for lettering ; Flicker Pens 'Speedball' dip nibs for bubbles-n-boxes. Pelikan ink on Crane 32# cotton.

Cleaned up & 'auto levels' in PS 10.0.1

Have a great week everyone

MattiasA your illustrations are top-notch. A few of them remind me a liiiiitle bit of Daniel Mróz - my favorite illustrator.

Hi. I love drawing with diffrerent fountain pen, in a way that looks almost like the 19th century. Mostly I use vintage ones with flexy nibs. But also a few Chinese pens with calligraphy nib, and the occassianal Sailor pen from Japan.

This Drawing was made using differenent shades of Noodler's bullet proof inks.

The pens were an eyedropper Waterman's no15, a Picasso calligraphy pen from China, and a Stephen's fountain pen with flexy nib from the 1930-40's.

It is drawing of a wetlands dreaming from Australia. I love to draw these images to spotlight the plight of Australia's shinking wetlands.

There are some good artists here on the forum. Everyone really has their own perspective on art.
