FPN's PEN ART GALLERY

+1 to what Astron said. (I thought *I* have strange dreams sometimes....). It's a strange image but I keep looking at it again and again. I could see this as being an illustration for an novel, or the dust jacket.

Even though it's creepy, I like it.

Sea Formation.

Higgins Black, Noodler's Firefly, and Noodler's Navajo Turquoise. Shockingly, no Prussian Blue. Not even the teensiest bit.

Creepy, yet good.

Thank you kindly for the high praise, I fondly remember when book covers weren't all digitally made art.

That's not even close to the weirdest thing I've seen in dreams :P

I don't often correct art after I post it but he aberrant stripes of black really bothered me when I noticed them. an imperfect fix but, eh.

On page 100 In anticipation of the upcoming holiday, there are some "note-taking" ideas for the inks, letters and fountain pens lovers:)

#6 - I was in Helsinki this week, sketched this :)

Fisher Space pen ballpoint again (I don't fly with fountain pens - too messy)

Drawn on the back of an envelope, had nothing else available, sorry!

Also, not enough time...

Back home and drawing with fountain pens again!

Parker 61 with broad nib (this is drawn with both sides - reversed for fine line)

Sketch Number 7, a church near my place.

This thing.http://burningsmell.org/images/i/shambling-owl-thing.jpgWings don't work that way, I am aware. Drawn from a dream. It walked, at a good clip, on wings and hindfeet.

Looks like a barn owl. They're such a beneficial creature, balancing rodent population in swift exacting dispatch, as food source, not for any pleasure of the kill. So despite their harsh rasping calls, & talons, there's nothing scary about them, (except to rodents). In fact, their soft downy feathers are the softest thing on earth! Softer than chinchilla fur.

Your flight feathers are very well done! Thanks.

Thank you. And yep, I know what an owl is. ;) It was a dream, and dreams don't make sense.

Well, not after you wake up they don't. My dreams (if and when I remember them, which is generally when I haven't had enough sleep to begin with) tend to make their own internal logical sense while they're happening.... It's only when I try to remember then in the morning does the logic (and often the linear order of images) go horribly pear-shaped, and lead me to go "Okay, where the [expletive deleted] did THAT come from...?"

Sometimes, if I went to bed early and can stay in bed for long, I could manage to get a lucid dream. But that's rare.

Lucid dreams are where you know you're dreaming, right? I've never had them. I did have one recently where I was *dreaming* that I was dreaming about something else... but that's as close as I've ever come to that.

Right.

I once woke up, only to wake up again because I dreamed I woke up.
