Hi all,

I have a jar of skrip ink. I'd like to be able to date it. So when did production of Skrip ink begin in Slovenia?

Lots of wants, limited funds!

I'm betting that Vivapen is the Slovenian contract manufacturer for Sheaffer (as well as others who are indicated on their website).

Check out the photos of their sample cartridges... looks like a Slovenian Skrip cartridge to me on the right side.

So much for the "Sheaffer ink plant in Slovenia" myth.

I'd recommend that you stay within your own species for that activity  .

Yeah, 2002, sounds right. If it looks like an old internal inkwell bottle but doesn't have the inkwell then I think it's American production from the '90s somewhere.

Got a photograph of it you could post? That'd help.

And if it's Slovenian then it's also too young to date :headsmack: .

On a sacred quest for the perfect blue ink mixture!

The bottle from Slovenia is more or less cone-shaped. The pre-Slovenian bottle is more or less cylindrical. The cartridges from Slovenia have the name "Slovenia" on the side. I don't know how to distinguish among pre-Slovenian bottles, labels, and box graphics.

One way is through the colours, either of the ink or the ones listed on the box. I don't feel like looking through the catalogues at the moment, but for example, Melon Red and Peacock Blue were introduced somewhere in the late forties or fifties. You can also date the bottles and labels and boxes, but in any case, one has to go through the catalogues.
