most beautiful vintage celluloid?

for those who like that sort of thing (like me): what is the most gorgeous vintage celluloid pattern you've ever seen? I'd say the one I most covet (and will keep on coveting if I don't start exercising some budget control) is the Waterman Patrician moss agate.

What about you?

When it's not too ambered, the Parker green Duofold has these beautiful swirls. Either that or the "screaming souls in purgatory" grey found on some of the vintage Sheaffers.

While the black transparent celluloid used isn't bad, but for me it's any of the colored transparent celluloid used on the Omas Extra Lucens and Lucens. Photos of a Lucens here; excellent photos of a very difficult to photograph transparent celluloid.

Waterman had some good ones-- this is a Thorobred, which I take to be mid- to late 1930s:

I'm partial to Waterman. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Waterman 7 in Emerald Ray

(Canadian) Waterman 92 in 'gold snakeskin'*

*I don't know the real/original name for this pattern. However, given the other color names Waterman used at the time, I wouldn't be surprised if this was called 'brown.'

Regards, greg

Don't feel bad. I'm old; I'm meh about most things.

For large Pen Posse events, I usually bring all of my pens.

Is there such thing as a NON beautiful vintage celluloid?

I personally love the green stripes on Vintage MBs, Sheaffer Jade Green and Striped Duofold's in the Blue

Also, this:

what IS that? It's a parker, right? but what parker? so so pretty. I seem to gravitate toward the warmer, subtler browny goldeny celluloid patterns (love that Waterman thorobred) but maybe I'm branching out in cooler shades!

In my opinion, this was the prettiest celluloid made.

The sword is mightier than the pen. However, swords are now obsolete whereas pens are not.

All the previous entries are exceptional...here are a few more swatches of vintage celluloid that I think are eye catching

Wahl Eversharp Equipoise. To me the most interesting, not necessarily the best. I think better is the modern Montegrappa Extra for beauty overall.

Thanks
