Umm, Houston, we have a launch delay.

 

Now an hour past the estimated latest delivery time per the phone notification and website up until now. FedEx now has NO estimated delivery date or time and shows everything still in Stansted with no change since the initial listing. So THEY don't know when they might be delivering.

 

You know it's gonna be a bumpy ride when the shipping company can't even guess. And after THEY called me to ask that someone be home this morning. :bonk:

Ah GP - that is a real bummer. I really feel for you it is horrible when you are waiting for something that has taken so long to get from the planning stage and you are given a delivery date that just doesn't come about.

I am quite excited waiting for it to arrive with you - I am just dying to know your reaction (well I know what your reaction will be, but I'm interested in the words and phrases that you will use to convey it to us all - remember I have already seen and held the beauty)and I have been logging on to FPN all day today each time I have received a notification that you have made a posting on the thread - thinking YES IT HAS ARRIVED! It must be worse for you but, tomorrow is another day.

I think I would be going nuts by now, eagerly searching for something to do to keep my mind off the FedEx delivery. Hope it arrives soon. Have just recently started reading these threads, and the pen is truly beautiful and the making of it a real saga.

Looks like they got ahead of themselves and forgot to put it on the plane. Or maybe the crew stopped for a pint and had to go home. Or when they went out to kick the tires and light the fires, they had a flat. :blink:

My tracking says my pen has visited Paris TWICE - but Ray said that may have been in one airport and on to another - and it has now visited China and is en-route to goodness knows where! :blink:

 

These pens are going to have such tales to tell, and you are the story teller here - so get started - you should be up to chapter 111 already!!!

Judging by the number of 'views' over the last 24 hours, I think that GP has got the support of a lot of people [FPNers] who are all routing for her, so hopefully the parcel will make it's way to her today.

Interestingly - mine had a fairly uneventful journey Stansted -> Paris -> Dubai and it reached Dubai yesterday afternoon at 3:31 p.m. I don't have it though - it says 'Clearance Delayed' on the FedEx site - the delivery date is today i.e. the 29th before midnight.

 

I'll call them in the afternoon to find out.

Edit (update): They have it in customs where its delayed in clearance because their system won't print out the paperwork needed by FedEx to pick up the shipment!!! I'm told to call back tonight to find out if it has been cleared.

Mine flew from England to the Tennessee sorting center and is now here in Florida. Hopefully this morning???
