Green/Black Ink

Another vote for Diamine green-black. It is a very dark green, close to black but with a distinguishable green undertone.

My personal preference is Private Reserve Ebony Green, but then I tend to like all of the PR ebony+color inks.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

  • 1 year later...

If you want something a tick lighter than Zhivago (but still dark green), try Noodler's Sequoia. Not a green-black exactly, more like a green-gray.

I'm sorry for reviving this old thread, but Zhivago is one of my most favorite inks (both colorwise and for its exemplary behavior) and I would like to add that if you want something lighther than Zhivago...you should still use Zhivago :D but diluted. Right now I'm writing with a 50% solution of Zhivago and it looks strikingly like MBRG. The behavior remains the same, it's waterproof, doesn't feather or bleed but just looks lighter (maybe it's just a bit less lubricated than 100% Zhivago, but that's to be expected...I will try a 75% dilution next time)

I always think of Noodlers Aircorps Blue Black when someone mentions a green-black ink.

+1

Don't know why it's called blue-black, it's green-black

What a strange world we live in, where people communicate by text more than ever before, yet the art of proper handwriting is seen as a thing from the past.
