Noodlers Iraqi Indigo (permanent ink line)

I've noticed it, but only with the eternal inks. Minor inconvience, IMHO, for what else comes with the package. Iraqi Indigo is a wonderful ink, FWIW IMHO.

I was not saying it was a bad thing just that Noodler's is the only ink that behaves like that on some of my pens ( the ones I have inked with it) and was wondering if others had similar occurances.

Sorry Kurt, I should have been more precise in my response. I didn't mean to imply that you said the nib creeping was bad. I was just confirming similiar experience and adding that I didn't think it was a big deal.

Oh, thanks for the writing sample and closeup, FLZapped (and Noble Savage for the review). Too bad we can't get Noodler's up here in Vancouver....Oh well, I have far too many inks as it is :)

I'm more than happy to contribute. I have a scanner and there is no reason to let it sit and go to waste! If you'd like, I can try it on other papers....although we are going to have Wilma passing through in the next dozen hours or so and we expect to be without power for a while.

Like I said, on cheap paper, it does feather, on decent paper, it's fine. I have an Ampad Planning pad and HP multi-purpose premium paper at my disposal, so I could do a sample on each.

I don't have Noodlers available to me locally either, I have to mail order it, Pendemonium uses priority mail, so it gets here in just a couple days.

I just picked up some of this ink in OH, and I have to say it is really growing on my. It goes on the color of PR tanzanite, but dries to a milky, dull purple. The best comparator I can think of is the color of the ink on old mimeographs that we used to get in grade school before copy machines were prevalent.

I have been burned by purples in teh past (PR Tanzanite never dried, and was too saturated, and Pelikan violet was too reddish purple for work use) but I think that this one could be used, even at work.

I love the fact that Nathan tried to match it to the actual ink used in the elections.

You know, I waivered back and forth on this ink for weeks. I finally got off the fence when I had to write to the lady that did my Lithuanian translations for me. I just KNEW she would find black "boring" - any excuse to buy ink, huh.....

I also have Legal Lapis. Now that I have more or less recovered from Wilma, I'll try that one soon too.

I find that the ink dries the same way that Legal Lapis does. It goes on saturated and dries to a more washed out tone.

Must be function the common "eternal", enzyme reaction.

The color that comes to mind when it dries is a milky purple color. I have to buy another bottle because my Wife liked it so much, she took it too work!!! <_<

I found this ink makes it way to the top of my nib, where as I don’t have the same issue with legal lapis....

Strange, I find that Legal Lapis exhibits this behavior more than Iraqi Indigo. At any rate, I really like this color. It is my current ink of choice in my current daily writer, a black aero "51" with a juicy UK medium nib.

Does it really feather on cheap notebook paper? I've just ordered a bottle for myself, having read the highly positive comments here!

You can use a waterproof Noodler's black, blue or red color to darken Iraqi Indigo and keep the waterproofness. I suggest mixing in small increments and test-writing lines as you go. Use a dip pen, or even just a diagonally-cut and slitted plastic drinking straw. A little bit of another color goes a long way, so start at 12 drops of Iraqi Indigo to 1 drop of another color.

For performance on paper, the Swisher-exclusive Noodler's waterproofs tend to be more dependent on the quality of the paper than Noodler's other lines are.
