Noodler's Cayenne vs. Habanero

Any comments on these. The scans I've seen make them look quite orange and not too red. Though I would have thought "Cayenne" would be an orange-red vs a red-orange. Anyway. What say you?

Hi KCat,

from the scans that I have seen, I've concluded that Habanero is a bit lighter than Cayenne, with a slight brownish undertone. Compared to Cayenne that is. There is always variance in scans, but assuming the same people scan on the same scanner you can draw some conclusions provided both are scanned.

Now, Cayenne is the ultimate red orange, IMO. It is a proper ground cayenne pepper colour, which really i sa mix of several orangy hues. Some yellowy orange flecks, bright orange, reddish orange and even a little warm red. And it is bright. It gives it nice shading characteristics, and I can look at it dry for hours, as a result. :D

Anyway, just the 1/2 c from the NL  .

Warm regards, WtMD

I started mixing 50:50 Parker Quink Red and Noodler's Habanero. I was not happy with the lightness of Habanero by itself. The mixture is an red-orange (of course) but mostly red. It is in my normal mix of inks I use every day.

Just back from the Pen Swab expecting to select Apache Sunset, which I have testdriven in the past, but now wondering if Habanero, Or, after seeing the post above, if Habanero Or, Cayenne have more of the shading I'm seeking??? Also, a reviewer at Pen Swab stated that Apache Sunset took awhile to dry. I would be using this in a Rhodia weekly planner.

Has anyone here compared all three in actual use?
