No fair, where's mine!

Great review, can't wait to get one.

I woul dpre-pay for one to get on the list.... but no such luck....

I may organize a pre-sale through FPN once shipment is verified close enough. I would need to make a plan for price and logistics, and clear it with the appropriate people. I have a pretty killer plan in mind to offer a good deal to the community.

Looking forward to hearing about your deal -- eager buyer here!

mahkie - being able to fit different nibs might be cool. I suppose it would be easy and cheap to make a range of tiny plastic adapters, whose outside thread fitted the TWSBI, and inside thread suited a given nib.

If you prefer the TWISBI's nib to that of a Safari, then that is surely a good sign. Although it would become monotonous, I think I could quite easily spend my life writing with just Lamy nibs.

Genius. Some people have bemoaned the lack of a 'next big thing' after cartridge converters. This would do the trick for me and then some! I'd propose Pelikan nibs *and* the old Esterbrooks -- think what awesome Frankenpens you could cook up!

I want a demonstrator in fine point, sign me up. I've got my eyes peeled for these.

I like it. Does anyone else know of a piston filler in this price range?

Question.. I'm not seeing a clip in the pics..

likely at the bottom supporting from rolling while photographing..

I've come to depend upon the big Paperclip at work..

Wondering how this 'heavier pen' will fare during the workday..

May we see a shot of the clip? Is it secure enough to clip to ones shirt/sweater top when filled with ink?

How secure is the cap?

Otherwise, this pens specs sound great!

In line for a fine:)

The clip is at the bottom in these pictures. Check some of the other TWSBI threads. They have pictures that show the clip and have links to the TWSBI blog that have very detailed pics and mechanical drawings. IMHO, it looks like a very secure clip.

The clip is strong enough to handle my favorite method of carry: held sideways in the middle of the buttons on my polo shirt roflmho.gif

As far as the cap, it's a screw cap, and I feel like it's pretty secure due to the O-ring they introduced to the design, It makes capping the pen feel pretty nice, helps avoid slip, and may prevent ink from leaking out.

Also, I went to a pen shop today, and can tell you guys that the pen is basically the same dimensions as a Pelikan m800 as far as length/girth. It's noticeably bigger than the m205 demonstrator.

I'm in, reluctantly if it's a demonstrator and eagerly if it's opaque -- but not pink, please.

My understanding is that if the first run goes well, there will be other, non-demo, versions.

So buy the demo, help us get speedy to build other versions!

I'd be interested in purchasing a couple. These would be great as gifts for FP n00bs.

I'll like a smaller version of this pen, about the size of the Pelikan M200/M400 or between M200/M400 and M600. Right now, the pen looks a bit too long and heavy for me, but I will still get one to try when it comes out!

Hi guys,

I just found this thread from searching mahkie name. Thanks for all your support.

Oh, I just want to say one thing. TWSBI should sound like "twsitbee".

Hope I am not making it more confusing.

Although this pen is reported to be roughly the size of an M800, it should weigh considerably less as it has a plastic piston as opposed to the M800's brass piston.

Not being fond of clear pens, I'm really hoping this one will be available in solid colors. If so, I'll be purchasing a few of these.
