149 Demonstrator pictures

Thanks for letting me know. Prices paid can soon be forgotten and replaced by pleasant memories of use or admiration.

Not a problem at all, I can still remember at that time, I did my research, know that these are not for sale, look at the price, closed the chrome tab, and then open the tab again :D

But, it is unique and beautiful, mostly importantly, my girl friend said 'It is OK for this one, but you know you are stepping on the line, right?' :lticaptd: :lticaptd:

At least you know know where the line is located. That's to tour advantage. ;)

I am fortunate to have acquired another 149 demonstrator. It is interesting to see the differences between them. My latest acquisition is the front one:

(I still have not inked my previous acquisition; sometimes it takes time to decide on the right ink for a pen).

What is most interesting to me about this pen is that it does not have the marks for the ink window. Of my five 149 demonstrators, this is the first one that completely lacks those ink-window etchings. The demonstrator that is second from the top only partially has the ink-window etchings.

This gives a more close-up picture:

And this is one last shot:

In the process of acquiring these latest pens, I have come to learn more about their history. Both of these pens were given as gifts from MB. So while I still can't say for certain whether the black-tipped ones were given as gifts, the totally-clear ones were.

I enjoy the cycles of this hobby. Unless I buy back some of these pens in a few years (which is totally a possibility), this is the final group shot of these five demonstrators:

In preparing two of them for shipment, I noticed something I had never noticed before. One of the five demonstrators has a different perforation around its band. The one on the right has fewer rectangular holes punched out out:

I turned around to get better light, so the one with the different band is now on the left in the next two pictures.

This part would be covered on normal 149s so I am not sure if this was a one-time change or not, but I found it interesting.
