Changing Nibs on Parker Sonnet Refresh?

I'm looking at buying a Sonnet Refresh from http://stores.ebay.com/PEN-SELLER-FROM-FRANCE but the one I'm interested in comes with a solid gold nib. The same seller has the 2 tone nibs for the same pen, but only the actual nib and feed, not the complete tip. How hard is it to remove the solid gold nib and replace it with this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/PARKER-SONNET-REFRESH-18KT-2-TONES-M-NIB-SECTION-NEW_W0QQitemZ360247203284QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Home_Garden_PensPencils_WritingEquipment_SM?hash=item53e06815d4

Pen Seller From France is also FPN's 'Lewertoski' also known as J.M.L. - I suggest you ask him if he'd be willing change the nib before you get it under the Parker nib exchange system - I believe he'll do it for Duofold BIN's and may be persuaded on a Sonnet if you ask before buying.

Regards,

Richard.

Ah, okay, that would be great. I'll have to pop him an email or similar then. :)

I bought a single 18k OB nib from Regina Martini last year and switched it for the gold plated one I already had on my early Sonnet. Very easy to just unscrew the old one and put the new one in place.

It is v v easy to change the nib section of a Parker Sonnet. The only thing you have to do is unscrew the nib from the pen and screw in the new nib thats all. All the nibs from Parker Sonnets are interchangeable so you can put different sonnet pen's nib in another Sonnet pen.

To unscrew the nib you will be holding the pen in you left hand and hold the nib with your thumb on the top of the nib and screw it anticlockwise.

Let me know if you need more help.

Sonnets are nice pens I hope you like it. Good Luck

Ah, okay, so the feed/nib unit just unscrews from the nib/cartridge holder?
