The looks very similar to Pelikan violet ink although the coloours we see on our monitors don't always reflect what they really are.

It's a great colour.

Hi NS,

I noticed a gradient in colour from top to bottom on the scanned page. Is that a scanning effect, or possibly slightly watered down ink because of a flush and rinse prior to using this ink?

Or something else? Could you please tell us?

Just wondering,

Kind regards,

Wim

I jotted down a quick sample and shot a few pics with the digital camera. In real life the Pel Violet is brighter than the second and third shot and closer to what you see in the second shot.

I made minor colour corrections to make the sample I see on my screen look closer to the sample on my desk.

When scanning pages, the light from the scanner is extremely bright and backlights the sample which really brings out the various shadings.

This ink really changes it's personality when it's put in a pen with a medium or broad italic, this sample was done with a med nibbed Sheaffer cart pen.

I agree. I have the Waterman Violet and I really like that color too!!! The only isue with waterman violet is that it stains like crazy. I still have stains in my Pelikan white tortoise shell. I have to make sure that I use this color in a darker pen.

ITS MY 100th POST!!! YEAH!!!!! :bunny1: :bunny1: :D :D :bunny1: :bunny1:

Ooh, I quite like the Diamine Purple. Haven't seen this one before, and I love purple. I have a Platinum Purple Passion, which is always filled with purple ink. No other colour will do for that pen. This ink will go on my wishlist I think.

Hi NS,

Oops, I just realise it may be the combination of ink colour and the TFT screen on my laptop. Turning it slightly resulted in the colour becoming quite even.

Of course the funny thing is I didn't have to do that with any of the other scanned ink samples.

Thanks for trying to answer my question anyway!

Kind regards,

Wim

That's odd, Roy's sample looks quite dark blue. ??? I realize different nibs will produce different results, but it doesn't look very close. My monitor is fairly accurate too.

Hi Leslie,

To me Roy's sample looks a very dark purple. Maybe because it is not just a wet but a very wet line?
