I just read from the site. The line on fountain pens in flight was interesting

While "shampoo" bottles are made for squeezing, ink cartidges are not.

Squeeze at your own risk. Cartridges are riggid and somewhat brittle. If

you squeeze and crack it, a whole different world of "inflight' problems come.

At the moment I am using Parker Short cartridges in my Al-Star, and would guess the standard Parker Cartridges would also fit fine.

Lamy and Parker are virtually interchangeable with Parker being ever so slightly wider.

 

I have a Lamy converter in my Parker IM at the minute, fits great.

I have a Studio, not an Al-Star, so this may not apply, but I have found that while long Parker cartridges will 'mate' to the Studio, and can be written with fine, they are slightly longer than Lamy cartridges, and prevent the Studio barrel being crewed back on.

I got some Lamy compatible cartridges that fit perfect . They are from “pen savings “ I ordered them on Amazon and I got a burgundy colored one that worked great. I did however seitch to a converter because of the larger selection of ink colors for bottled ink
