What Does Your Handwriting Look Like

I look at the handwriting samples in this thread, and I am amazed that people apologize, or say they need to work on the writing they show.

I can't imagine why.

Would that my own were so well formed. As it is, I am thankful I have allowed so little of it to escape into the wild.

Hah! Well, look at this!

Now no one needs to apologize because I am automatically the worst. Yay, I win? -_-

vmv84,

I loved your handwriting. If this sample is a quick note, I'm very curious about your "write nicely" sample.

Best regards

You're very kind!

(I'm 16 too, but I don't own as many fountain pens as you do!)

I use the pages for children. :)

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

ODB Lev 19:9-15

In his novel Chesapeake, James Michener, noted the effect of a change in farming methods on the birds of the Chesapeake flyway. More geese and ducks were able to feed in the corners.

This alm for the poor was the same food that Jesus and the disciples ate, to the displeasure of many.

Help us to remember the long term effects of our actions.

FPN Goodies:

Pen: Esterbrook Dipless w/ Durachrome 2550 (extra fine firm (aka posting))

Ink: Parker Quink Blue-Black

Paper: Moleskine

Inkwell: Esterbrook 444 Black w/ US Navy Fouled Anchor

Hand: My interpretation of Gunnlaugur SE Briem's Icelandic Italic from his presentation on handwriting repair.

Looked at my nib box and discovered that I had used the wrong number originally - substituting the 2556 firm writing for the 2550 fine firm writing.

Fascinating... This should be part of "Welcome New Members" thread.

There is no such single thing as 'my handwriting' - it varies greatly, usually depending on the speed of writing, the intended/expected readers.

Here are a few real examples, sorry for the cheap-phone-camera quality.

1 is a relatively old sample from a very hurried note taken with a ballpoint pen (out of necessity), from about 4 years ago.

2 is a casual note - something I did not intended for someone else's eye as is.

3 is a meeting minutes which might have been requested to be scanned/xeroxed in raw form for other readers before filing.

4 is a sample from my journal - something I'd like to read in 20 years from now, and I hope my (grand)children might enjoy, too.

Nothing artistic - all are functional pieces.

I think the Greek is quite nice

... it is actually rather drawn than written :)
