What Does Your Handwriting Look Like

Figured it couldn't hurt. I'm pretty new and haven't even started/tried to work on my penmanship yet. Nor do I even own a fountain pen so this is in pencil. Hopefully I can come back in a year with something a bit more respectable haha.

I've practiced (a lot) since I last posted to this thread. So, here's a new sample, on Rhodia No 18 with a Wahl Lady Doric pen with an adjustable nib.

Very nice writing, Joey! I notice that your handwriting doesn't have a slant, is that intentional? Overall I love your shading, it's done very well in my opinion and the writing looks deliciously bubbly.

Yes, no slant is intentional; I get wider downstrokes without a slant with a flex pen that I do with a slant.

I actually wouldn't change a thing, unless you want to write larger, which might be an easier read. I have a handwriting font that looks similar to yours and I think it's very cool.

I think this is a very nice handwriting! Are there more extensive examples available? I'm particularly interested in those upper cases. Does anybody else know of alphabets that look like this? I'm looking for something that is not written with stub or italic nibs, but rather plain fine point or medium point.

It's indeed very nice. The letter forms are in the Spencerian or Palmer family and the pen appears to be a stub or cursive italic (possibly an L-oblique). (There may also be a touch of cursive italic mixed in for good measure, e.g., the lower case 'a' and 's'.)

 

I'm biased toward monoline Spencerian, but any of the business hands would look well with a fine or medium nibbed pen.

Hello, everyone. I'm a new member (just joined this past week or so), and I'm still relatively new to fountain pens. BUT I love 'em. A lot. ;-)

Your writing is charming, has personality, and is readable for the most part. The last could be improved by either using a smaller nib or increasing the size of your letters.

I need to work on my Fs. I've been "engineering" my handwriting for decades, making improvements, but my latest improvement to my Fs seems... off. I am collecting examples of how other people do it (and NO, no Palmer method for me; it feels unnatural).
