For better (or most likely worse, lol), I present to you; My Chicken Scrawl and a Parker 45!

This is my handwriting in all it's raw glory after a month and a half of semi-nightly practicing on penmanship improvement.

It's certainly legible. The only thing I looked twice at was the word none, because the upstroke to the n made it look like an m for a moment.

Poe's A Dream Within a Dream always presents me with a problem; I think the two verses are the wrong way round! Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Isn't that how a cursive n is supposed to look like? I find it legible too except for the line following "and in parting from you now", especially the last word.

This is the writing I have when I'm taking notes... Writing as small as possible while still having distinction between letters! My note sheets for finals usually have 3 lines of text per college rule line space thingy :)

Just remember, this writing is big to me!

Every time there is a negative in life there is always a positive. A failed test, a relationship gone sour. Whatever it may be, your life is not over. If you dwell on the negative you can`t see the world with the right eyes. There is a positive in every moment, even if it is small. Try your whole life to find that positive and live off of it and you will be loved. My blog... Check it!!!

I really messed up on the H, and I really butcher my S's. Two things to know, though, 1. This is the first time ive done any handwriting since Jr. High (possibly the start of High School; either way, over 20 years ago). and 2. I'm still trying to learn how to write with a Fountain Pen. I'm one of those left handers that hold the pen at a high angle and constantly re-grips the pen, thus turning it.

So being left handed, the pen tends to scratch a lot rather than flow like melted butter. I have to really work my grip to find that sweet spot, as well as learn how to hold, and keep the pen held at a lower angle.

Though, that being said, even with a ballpoint pen, my handwriting isn't all that much better unfortunately. Sadly, till now ive never put much effort into the quality of my penmanship, or my printing for that matter.

Hello everyone. Does anyone happen to know the make/model of the pen above?

Thanks in advance.

Paperskater: excellent choice of sample text! I love Mumford & Sons too -- hope they win a Grammy tonight!

Lots of samples of my handwriting available in my blog, which is essentially handwritten (link below). This is my everyday, "just writing things down" writing; I suspect the biggest way to improve legibility is simply to slow down, but I'm completely open to any other suggestions as well.

I don't have a scanner handy here or I'd just write this reply longhand. :)

A handwritten blog (mostly)

Here's my somewhat hastily done sample. My hand gets shaky due to muscle problems, which makes my handwriting shakier than desired. Oh well. This is written with a Pilot Vanishing Point in Medium using Noodler's Ottoman Azure.

Your writing is beautiful. Debbie x

Beautiful writing AND beautiful thoughts! Where is it from? Did you compose it? I love it!

Thank you both for the lovely comments.

skyppere, those are lyrics from a song called "Little Lion Man" by Mumford & Sons. Wonderful band, I love their music.

I know where you're coming from when you talking about shakiness. I have a rare genetic condition that causes joint, muscle, and neurologic issues that makes my hands tremor, too. You're handwriting is beautiful! Much better than mine!

I love how things come full circle. I'm watching the Grammies and a group called Mumford and Sons brings the house down with their playing! I'm sitting there thinking... hmmm now where have I heard of them before! And then forgot about it. Then when I was looking for them on Youtube I remembered. Ahhh here on FPN! Now **I**m a fan too!

cheers

Thanks for this info. I checked out the online video of this song, and it was nice to recognize a Grammy nominee on Sunday! Too bad they didn't win, but a nomination must be a good boost to their sales.

Here is a newer sample of my writing, with each of my three Wahl pens. I'm still rusty as I only re-started my cursive writing about 3 weeks ago after a fifteen year gap! Hope you like it!

I neglected to put that the two I have written as "Eversharp" are both Skyliners. I was just excited to be practising my handwriting, sorry!

Here is a sample of my cursive handwriting in a letter (obscured slightly to conceal content). I've been practicing quite a bit, but I find a full page of this hard to read. I normally do not write in cursive. I found a rhythm for this hand, but I'm just not happy with it. I think I'll work on another style. I really liked the samples I've seen here of writing between the lines.

This was written with a Pelikan M200, .7 mm cursive italic nib and filled with Waterman black.

Sorry for the huge size, but I don't know how to make this smaller - it's from my cell phone.

Including me; I bought Little Lion Man and The Cave yesterday. I was so jazzed to see Lady Antebellum's wins; I "discovered them" from last year's Grammys.

"Awake My Soul" is a beautiful song, too. ;)

(Manically fuels everyone's Mumford interest and continues to derail the thread... last post, I promise!)

Hello FPN, long time no see :D

My current handwriting (old German cursive) looks like this. I used Waterman South Sea Blue and I think the first photo matches the ink colour better than the second.

Best regards

Hans-Peter
