What Does Your Handwriting Look Like

Is that railroading intended? Or is it a result of pressing harder on a dry nib to coax more ink out of it?

I'm not criticising – just curious.

Cheers,

David.

David, there is no railroading. The nib is a medium italic and not a flex nib. Also do not press down hard on my nibs. If a nib is too dry, I tweak it to make it a wetter nib. Here is a closer snap for your perusal. Hope that helps. :)

Thanks, Helen. Maybe I was being a bit extreme in calling it railroading. The density of the ink is greater on the lateral borders of many of the downstrokes, leaving the centres quite sparsely coloured. I love broad italic nibs but I have never seen that feature, although that may be because I like nibs that are extravagantly generous of ink flow.

I like the colour of the ink in that expanded image, by the way.

Thanks for your writing stroke insights. Never evaluated my writing in that fashion. Good to know info! :) The ink is Chesterfield Antique Mariner, which is a pale blue/greyish. Don't use it often. Also the paper is an inexpensive notebook paper I purchased from Dollar General, instead of my Black n' Red Notebook or Rhodia Dotpad. I am one who does like a generous ink flow, and really prefer broad or 1.1 stubs. As noted, the nib on this Wing Sung 698 is a medium italic (initially came with an EF & exchanged for the med. italic).

Fred, Absolutely.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).
