Your handwriting will improve with practice & it is perfectly legible so there is no reason to apologise for it! It is not something that just happens after years of merely writing, few of us will be thought of as Calligraphers, they are Artists who have mastered a craft. As long as you enjoy using a pen, it will make it a pleasure & something that find's natural improvement.

Thank you so much for the nib suggestions. In all honesty, I've been hesitating asking the differences between pen nibs for writing as it seems like too a basic question to ask, and there are so many out there.

 

Perhaps I'll put more care into my academic notes, as well as music notation (I write music for hobby).

 

Some may say my time for improvement has run out, but seeing this post has really grounded some points for me. Perhaps I'll share progress when I feel some has been made (I'd think more deeply into this at the moment, but it's rather late and I'm about to retire to bed.)

 

Question while we're at it (as I'm deeply interested in calligraphy just as much as my handwriting): Would you consider Faux Calligraphy a good start before diving headfirst into dip ink calligraphy? I've been considering doing the former, especially since using a dip pen for writing (at least for me) is a lot different than drawing, which I've grown used to. And some suggest it is a better way to learn the formation, despite not getting some stroke practice.
