What Does Your Handwriting Look Like

well this is the age of the internet so i guess availiability isnt really an issue. Also have a penshop not too far away http://www.penshop.co.uk/

Apart from a cheap parker fountain pen i used back in high school(for about a day, ink all over the pages and it was just a mess lol) i have not used any type of fountain pen or different nibs.

I have Dyspraxia which means it took me a long time to learn how to write in the first place, I can't write particularly fast am pretty up and down with hand pressure etc although it's much better these days. I worry with a fountain pen that as with high school text will look very strange and i would probably damage nibs with the wrong pressure occasionaly among other issues.

"One of the primary symptoms of dyspraxia is poor handwriting. This is due to poor motor skills, perceptual dysfunction and erratic organisation and motor planning."

If you don't mind the kiddie-look of it, maybe give the LAMY abc some thought then? It's made for beginners and can take quite a lot of abuse. My entire class used to have them and I don't think anybody's ever managed to break them, short of physically hurling them against a wall nib-first.

You could also try giving the Pentel Tradio TRF a go - that's the proper one, with the metal nib - they have super stiff nibs and feel more like an extremely good, smooth rollerball. Don't buy them for more then 15€, though, they are very obviously supposed to be cheap pens.

But really? If you have an actual, brick-and-mortar store near you, why not go and try some pens? That's a surefire way of finding out what suits you.

And, by the way, I admire your resolve to do something that you know will be hard. As somebody who tends to take the path of least resistance whenever possible, I find that very commendable.

Very cool! I have never seen this type of nib except for Osmiroid pens. Thanks for sharing!

I have several Osmiroid "Shadow" nibs. They really help to highlight nib movement and identify errors in chisel point calligraphy execution.
