I have had one of these for a few years, with the extra fine nib. The nib is very special and pleasurable to use. I rarely use it but have kept it, because it is so beautiful.

While no photographs do justice to the Polar Lights FP, your side-by-side with the Picadilly is one of the best I have seen.

 

The Polar Lights was my first 'upscale' Pelikan, and I loved it, but that hump in the body of the pen eventually got to me and as a result I sold it, after much soul searching. Some one else mentioned above but who is 'Pam', and how can I learn more about her offerings?

 

Green ink Brigade? That link lead to a dead end but I'd like to know more. I probably have a greater variety of green inks in my box than all the others combined. I'm not crazy, ... and if you say I am, I'll come looking for you and when I find you ...

Pam owned a family pen store in Detroit, but closed it to care for a relative.

I bought my Polar Lights to celebrate seeing the Northern Lights while on a flight returning from Akaska. I was amazed by the pen--wonderful heft and balance in the hand-posted or unposted. glides effortlessly over the paper (utterly ruined me when it comes to using a ballpoint), and is handsome as well.
