How many 51s do you have?

About 30. I finally kicked the 51 acquisition habit (I think). Maybe the tin foil hat has been helping. Half are Aeros that mostly work, the other half Vacs that mostly don't. I'd raffle off the Vacs, but I can't bear to part with the blue diamond gold clip Lustraloy caps.

12? 14? 16?

Something like that, and I'm not parting with any of them. I'm not hunting them, but if another beauty came my way, I could find room in my home for it.

Much Love--Virginia

Ditto Skybird!!!

78 operable presently: all vac colors except Nassau and Buckskin; all vac demi colors, all aero colors, all aero demi colors, 3 desk pens (one of them cordovan), 3 Kullocks (fuschia, canary yellow, white with faint blue veins), 1 full-size Flighter, 1 demi Signet, 1 custom hammered full-size Signet - artist unknown, several British models (cordovan vac, burgundy aero, gray aero) with extra wide nibs, 1 each US Mark II and British Mark II, 3 Vista Blue SE, 1 black SE, and several sentimental ones: my Dad's navy gray aero w/ lustraloy cap, my mother-in-law's cedar vac w/ sterling cap, and my Dad's best friend's black DJ set w/lined Heritage caps carried through several campaigns in North Africa and Sicily, about a dozen pencils.

Still hunting for a couple with rolled silver caps.

Ditto. I was hoping to talk my mom out of the one she used when I was a kid, since I know she no longer uses a fountain pen.

Her response: "Oh, that old thing? I'm sure I tossed it out years ago."

:bawl:

I remembered my dad having 'lots' of fountain pens when I was a kid. When I asked him after developing my fountain pen fervor 1.5 year ago, he said "Huh? I have one left." as though he can't remember the rest. Turned out to be a Parker Flighter which I'm helping to babysit.

Just one - to see what all the fuss is about. Got it about a year ago. It was ok, but I prefer other, less minimalist pens...

erick - what didn't you like about it - perhaps you got a less than optimal sample. is the nib scratchy? shouldn't be so...

ps> the mail arrived - beautyful navy grey w/ jeweller's band from 1944. good writer with a smooth F nib.

Three.

A teal blue aero with a 1/8th 14k Gold filled cap (medium) (pic in avatar at left)

A black aero with a 1/10th 10K gold filled cap (wide fine)

A cedar blue vac with a lustaroy cap (medium)

All three are in perfect working order and are in my daily rotation.

I guess I am looking for a double jewel vac next, but it may be a long wait...

About 30. All except one teal aero and three flighters are black. Most have XF/needlepoint nibs, which can be uncapped for quite some time without drying out - a very practical byproduct of the hooded nib.

Never enough. They are still multiplying. I keep feeding them viagra hoping one might turn into an Ultra Giant.
