Best online pen store (Europe): which ?

I made two separate orders with La Couronne de Comte, and on both occasions they had some item missing from the order. That's a bit frustrating. Granted, they did reimburse the missing item, but still, it's been frustrating.

:yikes: :crybaby: :gaah: I just ordered from La Couronne..I hope all will be fine...

I have used most of the sites mentioned, and my preferred one for most fountain pens remains La Couronne du Comte. Excellent quick service and the only item that was ever missing was a packet of ink cartridges and Dennis mailed it the same day I told him and had it within three days. My only complain is that he does not carry a large selection of paper. For that and other stationary as well some pens I like to shop Cult Pens and Bureau Direct.

I've just made an order from Cult pens. Within an hour all items were sent by post.

I might have expressed myself incorrectly. I was not unhappy with the orders, so much so I ordered more than once from la Couronne, and each time there was a missing item they either reimbursed or sent it at a later stage. So this does not mean this happens every time, it's that I've been unlucky. And the guys there are very accessible and kind.

 

That's to be fair and clear.

I've used (and had no problerms with) The Writing Desk and Bureau Direct. Also bought a pen with no problems from Pure Pens/Niche Pens (depending on what your ordering, for me it was a Pelikan). Today also smoothly completed a new purchase with Sakura Fountain Pen Galleries, which involved an email conversation as I wanted to check some things in advance of the purchase.

So I wanted to buy a 250 ml bottle of Octopus Pinie ink, but I could not for the life of me get the transaction go through on their website. It's significantly more expensive on the Amazon UK site, but the transaction took like 30 seconds.

Word to the wise: it's dearer, but it saves wear and tear on your arteries.

I've also ordered from La Couronne du Comte , the first time they split my order and I have no choice after they did that, from now I ask first if they have in stock so they can send me the thinks together.

 

Next time I'm ordering some Rodia dotted paper, but you have to order first (they don't have in stock).

These LCdC's surprises, when items are not in stock and one has to wait for them, aren't very pleasant. I miss at least a short warning stating that some items might not be available at all times ...

 

Despite this, I am a happy and returning customer. The prices, communication, offering, shipping ... Everything is great!

Some patience might be needed, yes, but overall I am still satisfied with their service.

While I am a regular customer of La Couronne du Comte, they do tend to either miss items that should have been sent, or send the wrong items. The customer service is top notch and will take care of the mistake within 48 hours usually, and their prices are more than excellent, but it would be nice to not have these issues occur.

 

Their shipping is also great and the gift wrapping is a nice touch. Even with all the little problems, in my opinion still one of the top 3 European shops out there.
