Dear friends!

I bought a Pen recently Cross Townsend Sterling Silver with nib spiritual medium 18k. I still didn't receive the pen. I would like to know that you talk me about the pen, tends in view that I am inexperienced user of the mark Cross. I stopped buying a Pen Montblanc 146 to buy that pen Cross Townsend Sterling Silver. The one that you speak to me about that. Did I make a good business?

I have a Cross Townsend in sterling silver and medium nib. It is my No. 1 best pen (and I have two other Townsends and several MBs as well as many other good pens that write well but are much less expensive).

I do not take it out of the house for fear of losing it but love to write with it at home - everything from crossword puzzle answers to long documents.

I am currently hoping to get another Cross Townsend in sterling silver, but funds are limited.

Chris

Adryan:

I'm with Chris on this one too. You made a great business and personal decision to go with the Cross Townsend.

Not withstanding the "made in China" connotation, this model is a very nice pen, writes a wet line with their ink,

smooth, and a flexible nib. You will enjoy it no doubt. I have a MB 146 but find I enjoy the Cross a little better.

Have a great time with your new Cross when you receive it.

Dan

Dear friends!

Today I received my pen Cross Townsend Sterling Silver, nib 18k Solid Gold. The pen is wonderful. He/she writes super soft. It is a little heavy, but even so she has a perfect balance in the hand. Before that pen to arrive, I had already bought another Townsend Green Lacquer Translucent, nib 14k solid Gold yellow. I can say that the two pens write same. The nib are perfect for a soft writing. Later, I will be making a review and posting here.

Russ,

My Townsend Sterling Silver I bought for USD 130.00 with the included shipping. I saw their depositions on Townsend, what encouraged me to be also a lovers of Townsend. I hope soon you also acquire a Townsend Sterling Silver for his/her collection. I know that you have several Townsend.

Not sure if this will help you with your confidence in your decision, but unless something has changed recently, their nibs are made by Pelikan. Though I haven't owned one in some years, my Pelikan was always one of my best writers, and my Cross is as well.

Enjoy!

Pelikan3,

Really the nib of my Townsend in a lot if it seems with the nib of my Pelikan M-800. Then that is true: nibs of Townsend are really manufactured by Pelikan.

Congratulations Blade!

This anniversary commemorative pen is a spectacle. Today I've used my very Townsend Sterling Silver. It really is an excellent pen, which was bought when I was looking to buy a Montblanc 149. I think I made the best choice!

One of my best friends was managing partner of Bertram's Inkwell, in Baltimore, which was/is one of the meccas of fountain pens in the country, like Fahrney's and Fountain Pen Hospital. I often visited his store, occasionally worked for him part time, and attended/worked pen shows with him (mostly DC, Chicago, Phili, and Detroit). So, I had my ear to the ground, so-to-speak, about such things. But, to be fair, I've been out of the loop for a bit, so that relationship COULD have changed.

I suspect the nib manufacture may go beyond the Townsend. I have a Cross Matrix that has a steel nib (BOOOO! HISSSSS!) that is one of my best, smoothest, writers. The nib shape is very reminiscent of the Pelikan M-400 series, and writes as smoothly as my Pelikan did.

Townsends are nice. I've got a Medalist with a medium gold-plated steel nib that's one of my most enjoyable pens to write with.
