USA only :

One Reform 1745 with a "tweaky" nib. I didn't like the feel of the nib when I got it, & my attempts to correct the problem changed but did not solve it. If you think you want to play with it, it's yours — send me a PM.

I would like a chance at it

GONE! To lucky #3, brl.

I also have a Reform 1745 with a flow issue that I haven't been able to resolve and am happy to give away to someone who wants to tinker with it. The pen writes fine for a couple sentences, then the flow dries up. I've been dealing with the problem by slowly releasing more ink by unscrewing the piston. The nib writes almost a medium. Sorry, USA only. Just to spice things up, I'll do a radio-style giveaway to the third person who PMs me. So you don't have to be the first!

  • 2 weeks later...

Pen is taken.

I think I need some good karma (tax time!), so I've decided to offer up another pen to a worthy taker.

Please, guys and gals, let this go to someone who is starting out in fountain pens, or someone who is using something at the Varsity level as a daily writer (not that I have anything against Varsity fps!).

This is a new Shaeffer Agio in pastel yellow. I think the nib is a medium. It's never been inked. There's no box or papers, just a plastic sleeve. I stole the picture from the Sheaffer website.

PM if interested.

 A very sweet thing to do Kristi. May a big, unexpected refund be found in your returns! :clap1:

No such luck. :crybaby:

I think the karma will be needed to prevent the IRS from asking for the receipts that were not in the folder where they should have been.

CLAIMED

Someone did an incredibly good turn for me a few days ago, so I'd like to pay a little forward myself. I'm not sure if it's already been offered up in this thread, but given my meager means as a student, I would like to offer a 50 sheet pad of Staples bagasse paper to someone who hasn't been able to try it yet.

First PM gets the pad. USA only, please.

For reviews of the paper, see here.

My turn! :) I've benefited so much from FPN, I'd like to give a little something back! Plus, I need some good karma for a major exam I have in August.

I'm a student, so it's not much, but I'm offering one small Clairefontaine wirebound spiral notebook, 3.5" x 5.5", orange and gray cover. I'll ship it anywhere in the world via media mail or its equivalent, as long as shipping isn't more than $5.

I'd like this to go to a fellow student, please. (I'll do another giveaway later for the general membership.)

PM me until 8 PM Pacific Time on April 16, 2009 if you're a student and are interested--I'll use a random number generator to pick the winner out of everyone who PMs me during that time! :)

Inks currently in pens: Noodler's La Reine Mauve, Rachmaninov, Prime of the Commons Blue-Black, Naval Orange, MN Whaleman's Sepia, Verdun Green, Majestic Orange; J. Herbin Violette Pensée, Rose Cyclamen, Orange Indien

That's another interesting way to decide the lucky recipient! I've felt bad for some time about the people who aren't near computers or in the right time zones missing out on this thread. When I gave something away, I did it radio style and gave it to the third PMer. I hope this idea of not giving the item necessarily to the first person who PMs catches on.

Do you consider doing self-paced classes as part of an apprenticeship program being "a student"? :)

Balog: Sure--if they're actual classes (distance learning is okay) and you're not making the big bucks yet, that's fine. ;) PM me!

Skooky: :D That was exactly the random number generator I was going to use! Thanks! :)

MsLoathsome: Thanks! I'm just trying to let as many students as possible have a shot at it--I know I'm not always by a computer when these posts come up! :(

It's very nice to see the spirit of generosity alive and well on FPN, and enjoying an upsurge of late. This is something we'd like to support and encourage, so I've created this pinned topic. Members who have pens or related items they'd like to pass on and give away will have a home here, should they want one. Members who claim stuff shouldn't feel that they need to have something of their own to pass on immediately, though. Even if it's years later, the magic should still work.

It all comes back - eventually!

I think this is a great idea and I have got 3 each 3.5" by 5.5" 192 page Moleskine lined notebooks that I will send postage paid to the first three people who email me at cakibler@aol.com. I don't check the PM in box on a regular basis, so please contact me by email if you please!!

Thanks,

Carl

All CLAIMED!

Wow, That was a quick response! All Moleskins are now spoken for. Thanks for participating everyone and hope you will enjoy them. I only wish I had a few more to dole out.

I love this idea!

I have 2 unopened LAMY T10 cartridge packs of 5 cartridges each in Blue Black.

1st and 5th PMs get them. I will respond to the 1st and 5th and then correspond for a shipping/mailing address.
