How do you flush out the reserve tank? Someone here mentioned that they forget that the reserve tank is there so they never use it. Does it fill each time you fill with ink or is there a separate step?

Thanks!

Scroll up to the previous page.

Take a look at the instruction sheet.

The diagrams explain how the reservoir works.

There is no separate compartment or tank , if that is what you are asking.

The little green tab at your nib feed, is a clever device that works by not allowing all ink in your ink compartment to completely drain off into your nib feed.

It's like a valve that opens or closes a dam.

By stopping all ink to drain away, it keeps a small amount of ink - hence the term - a reserve supply of ink to last you long enough before you can get to a bottle of ink to refill.

This reservoir ink device is useful.

Like when you write halfway , and your nib runs dry, you can just push up the little green tab and you have a fresh supply of ink to at least let you finish your page of writing.

Whenever you actuate the piston FULLY, and do a refill, the reservoir will always be filled.

It also means the reservoir will be completely flushed away of all ink.

(See my photos above)

If you don't want to use the reservoir feature, then AFTER a refill, push the green tab upwards to open the 'gate' , this means all ink will flow to the nib feed.

No amount will be 'delayed' to form that reserve supply of ink.

I am not sure if I have answered your questions, but I hope I have :-)

I suppose one reason why anyone would want to de-activate the reserve tank , is maybe when you want a change of ink colours, hence the need to ensure the reservoir is completely flushed clean , otherwise you have mixed ink colours.

The possibility of ink mixing is when you don't actuate the piston FULLY - the ink in the reservoir is not expelled, it's still there, and you draw in a fresh supply of different ink into that same ink compartment.
