Narrow Ruled Paper

Can you recommend any fountain pen friendly & narrow ruled paper?

I like the moleskine rules- if I'm not mistaken, they're 6mm. But I'm getting a little tired of the feathering and bleed through and want to explore other options. Something in that ball park will do.

I wish some of these online stores would make the info a little more accessible but until they do, I have all you experts to turn to!

I'm interested in the usual suspects (Clairefontaine, Rhodia, Quo Vadis etc.) and am very open to new brands. Naturally, I'm seeking the perfect notebook, but until then, I'm willing to sacrifice "laying-flat," durability, aesthetic appeal and archival quality. Narrow ruling and fountain pen friendliness is non-negotiable.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

My answer to the Moleskine is the Moleskine-lookalike Markings by CR Gibson, $10 at Staples. I love the narrow rule -- and no bleedthrough, no feathering. I've been using these notebooks for over a year, about one per month. There was a batch of slightly-coated paper (and I liked it anyway), but this latest batch isn't coated, and I went out and bought six of 'em.

FWIW, I typically use F nibs and Noodler's Black, Noodler's Blue-Black, Noodler's Zhivago, Levenger Raven Black, and Pelikan Blue-Black (with a splash or two of Noodler's Black to make it water-resistant). Other inks (colors from J. Herbin and Visconti) work fabulously, too, but I tend not to write with those colors much.

The small Rhodia Webnotebooks have 6mm spacing. The larger ones have 7mm. The US made Webbies have nice 90g Clairefontaine paper that will be just what you're looking for in terms of feathering/bleedthrough prevention. I can't recall off the top of my head what other CF products might have 6mm spacing, but I can check for you if you're interested (I sell CF, Rhodia, and Quo Vadis).

Allan's journals have teeny tiny 4mm spacing on Oxford paper, which is super thin. The paper is remarkably fountain pen friendly, though with the thinness of the paper, there is inevitably some shadowing. They're not for everyone, but they have a narrow rule!

The sizes available and cover material options have changed since the last spate of interest in Allan's here on FPN, but the paper is still the same.

A quick visual from an old comparison thread on Allan's:

One that I know of is Kokuyo Campus. They have both loose-leaf and notebook versions with very fp-friendly paper, at least as good as Clairfontaine. If you use the loose-leaf paper, you can choose either 6mm or 7mm lines. For the notebooks, it is a bit more complicated. Look for B% size with 34 lines or A5 size with 28 lines for narrowness.

If you live in the US, it might be hard to find, but Jetpens(no afliation etc.) sells them.

I have just started using Staples own brand refillable Journal. The refills are 8" X 5.5" and the lines are 6mm apart.

In the UK I think the original Journal with a pretend leather cover is about £11.00 and the refills are about £3.00. I am certainly no expert on paper but I like using it. I have not noticed any feathering.
