Diamine Amazing Amethyst, Lavender, and Marine

Recommended Posts

I received the Amazing Amethyst a couple of days ago - that I bought because of this comparison - and it is a marvellous, dark lilac-grey ink! I'd say dark lilac-lavender with a hint of grey. Lovely! Thanks again for posting this comparison and making me aware of the AA!

Edited to add that it is marvellous in a broad italic!

I'm so glad you like it. It's one of my favorite colors!

how does PR Tanzanite compare with the Lavender?

Not even close. Tanzanite is quite blue where as Lavender is a true purple. Diamine Lavender is only a couple shades off Waterman's Violet.

Great colors. Do you know when any of these will be in regular stock as opposed to bespoke only? I love the Marine and the Lavender.

ooh thanks dizzypen! I have some carts of Tanzanite..may try to see if they fly at work..it's blue Or black ink there.

Still Love that Diamine Lavender though! It captures the intense color of my favorite variety I picked last summer-no my without sleep brain cannot recall the name.

I see there are different formula's of Diamine.. Lavender comes in two-which one is your sample, And, what's the difference? (gall? waterproof?) edit to add, didn't see an explanation on the site or here.

I was so thrilled about the amethyst and my brand new pad of Canson (120g/m2 sketch paper) so I did a little sample list with 10 Diamine blues and purples that you can find here. I simply love that it is possible to buy their inks in these small bottles and that one gets these free cartridges if one buys 3 small plastic bottles.

Only one ink on that list is bespoke and that is the Amazing Amethyst. Both Marine and Lavender are a part of the regular line. I think that the US supplier just haven't ordered any or haven't received it yet. However, shipping to the US direct from Diamine is only £5 flat rate. This isn't bad at all especially if you order in bulk. I think the Writing Desk might offer an even better deal.

I'm not sure I understand your question. What do you mean by "Lavender comes in two"?
