Psyktek - I too delivered one from another unfortunate person last night. Rescue accomplished with likewise minimal collateral damage to the credit card!

I want to commend you both on your dedication to the cause, but you should remember that Keith, Brian and I are willing to share the load, nay - feel it is our obligation to share the load as keepers of the faith and old Estie addicts.

We stand ready to save you ourselves.

Really.

When's the next auction???

Comrades! I wish to state categorically and in the strongest terms that no Esterbrooks, nor Wearevers, shall ever be seen in the possession of FPN posters. Such accusations are totally untrue and completely without merit. Even as we speak, these bendy-nibbed weaklings are emptying their bladders before our gates and mailboxes! Visa, Mastercard, and American Express be praised!

Gerry,

While your zeal is commendable, your tactics are flawed. It is unwise to push aside we who are younger and, hence, able to carry on the battle longer. While your experience is of immense value, you must consider the future - not to mention the immeasurable contributions that many newbies / youngsters have made in various fields. ;)

Southpaw,

That's the usual tactic of the elders - offer up the young and idealistic to varous causes while remaining safely ensconced behind the lines directing the carnage.

Not us, the FPN elders. Into the breach ourselves I say. I remain dedicated to preserving the youth for the future, and from the past.

No, fear not - send me those foul creations and I shall deliver thee...

(sitting heavily, exhausted by the exertion)...

I'm alright - fear not (feebly waving away offers of assistance)...

Just ... ... just send 'em (wheeze)

Well, someone has been protecting me from a Blue Modern Stripe Skyline, and I wish they would please cut it out. I am a grown person, I can take care of myself. they don't have to keep out-bidding me by $1.00 every time!

Jeeze

One of these days I guess.

I would be happy to protect anyone else from the danger of these, however. . .

So if you have a lot of ink,

You should get a Yink, I think.

With all the bad press Esterbrook gets here, I was challenged to see for myself. I drew two out of my collection because I didn't want them to contaminate those other great pens. And I was foolish enough to acquire another three this afternoon at the Raleigh Pen Show. I've just tried to write with the newbies. Now I see what all the fuss is about. Now I have symptoms of dreaded hand tremble with thumb and forefinger strain. You'll get those same painful symptoms if you try to write with those cheapies. Since I already have the symptoms, you can just send your cheapies to me and go buy some real pens ... that is buy some real expensive ones! ;)

Can anyone name THE pen that has appreciated ~40 times over its original RETAIL price? Send me a quarter for three guesses. N.B. One guess cannot be Mount Blank!

How about the esterbrook twistfiller. $3.50 in 1943. If you can even find one now a days, it's gonna set you back $300-400.

I'm sure there's lots more, but seeing this is an esterbrook forum....

Best-

Brian
