Letter out to @Lexus77 on Tesco writing pad, well that was interesting the the platinum plaisir pgb-3000 with platinum black ink cartridge (cartridge only fountain pen) worked fine with this pad as did Lamy Safari medium nib with Pilot Iroshizuku murasaki-shikibu ink. The only conclusion that I can draw is that these are a pair of particularly dry fountain pens and ink compared to The Cross pens that I have that hate Tesco writing pads.
