That's the coolest shot of a SARB001 that I've seen. The next watch I'm going to buy is one of the new 6R15 divers, I have 2 SCVS001's and 1 SCVS013.

Ahh, a man with a discerning eye! Thanks for the kind words, BostonWIS. Actually, that is the first time I even took a pic of that watch. Indeed, the new 6R15-powered divers are certainly generating a lot of excitement.

Well, on the subject on 6R15-powered Seiko watches, I decided to take a few pics of the ones I had. In addition to the blue-dialed SARB001 posted earlier, here are a few more.

Here's a black-dialed Alpinist with a Hero pen.

Here's one with a Platinum "Koi" celluloid.

And here are two with another Platinum celluloid.

Great pictures Seikoguy, just a thing, isn't the black dial ALpinist a quartz 8F56 movement? By the way, I love the watch, I have been very close to get one a several times...

The giveaway is the "DIASHOCK 23 JEWELS" on the dial -- gotta be a mechanical movement. I think they make the Alpinist with a number of movements, including the 8F Perpetual Calendar quartz movement.

I like watches too, especially mechanicals. But they cost too much!

No, the black dial Alpinist is all mechanical. The current Alpinists in production are mechanical, using the 6R15 movement. The previous run of Alpinists that came out about 4 years ago used a quartz movement, but I believe they have been discontinued when the current mechanical versions were released. Like HDoug stated, the "Automatic" is an immediate giveaway.

I'm new to the FP world and I'm ashamed to say I don't have one yet. My interest in pens came out from my grate love for watches so here is my current watch

2 more shots of my 6R15's watches.

Love those new 6R15 mechanicals! I've got little girlscout wrists though. Do they make any in the old standard 36mm or so? The biggest watch I can wear without looking like an idiot (any more than I usually do) is a 38mm diver.

I came here from watches, which I still love but are too expensive for me at the moment. Pens cost roughly 1/10 of their watch equivalents. An "entry" lux watch like a Rolex is around $4-$5K, right? A tenth of that will get you a Montblanc 146. The Omega on my wrist cost about ten times the Pelikan in my pocket.

Plus pens are more "useful." Watches, as fascinating as they are, just kind of sit there on your wrist. Just my $0.02 about pens, which would cost you a full 20 cents in watch dollars.

Doug, the white dial 6R15 that BostonWIS and I both have is 37mm in diameter. I believe that's the smallest one in the current lineup. I'm sure you'll be able to pull that one off without too much difficulty. smile.gif

Great watches!! Cool pens too of course wink.gif

I notice several indicated "replica" and they looked great! Can any of you pen guys/gals recommend a good (reputable) internet site that sells replicas of decent quality?

Thanks!

Doug, I think you can seriously consider the Seiko Spirit SCV013 as seikoguy mentioned. I have the same watch. It is indeed smallish.
