Eons ago I put a scan of poor photographic quality of a pen and watch of mine in this thread. There were some requests for a better photo of the watch (an old pocket watch with pierced silver champleve dial). I had to beg off because I had no better way to picture the watch. Well, I finally got a digital camera (Canon SD1400 IS point and shoot that I'm just learning to operate), so here 'tis. After despairing of finding this old thread, I found it pinned to the top of the index (I posted a new thread, which I'll try to delete). This pic is not so hot, a hand held quickie with poor lighting and composition, and I'm disappointed with the resolution, given the supposed 14 megapixel frame size (original), but it's way better than previous. So, without further ado (if the Photobucket enforced shrinkage is sufficient not to blow up the FPN server) ...

Most certainly keywind and keyset too, I'd wager. That looks like one hell of an old watch. Either that, or it's a really good reproduction...

It's the real deal, a silver pocket watch by Richard Colton of London, c.1705. It's missing its outer pair case and has a couple other condition problems, but the pierced silver dial is on of the finest around, IMO.

Strange isn't it? I really like this brand too and also watch that market. Steel-models are more expensive than the gold-steel versions second hand. Or at least there is a lot depreciation of gold(-steel)models in comparison where the steelmodels (talking about sportcategory) are only getting a higher value.

The most you can ask of a watch is that it holds its value, my gold/steel Daytona has at least done that, so she's a keeper. The pens in the bundle, though, have mostly appreciated in value.....very interesting.
