Thanks for the kind words and sorry for the late answer, I am not so often looking into the board but will do it in the future.

 

Well, the watch is a Hamilton Bagley from around 1939-41 and one of the nice Hamiltons with the so-called tubular Lugs. Other models like the Dodson, Sutton, Bentley and Bowman had a similar feature and style. This particular Bagley has the more seldom two-tone black enemal numeral dial, while most Bagleys still existing have the applied 18K gold numerals. The case is 10K gold filled, so it was one of the "cheaper" watches of that time. The grade in the watch is Hamilton 987A, a real workhorse and very nice 17-jeweled piece. The hands on mine aren't the original ones but I like them, makes it looking a bit more like a "Railroad watch".

 

The pen is, as far as I learned here and on the pages from Richard an Jim Mamoulides a Skyline moire in grey and one of the later models of around 1948 or somewhere near the end of the production time. It has a nice medium nib and is a bit a wet writer, at least compared to my Sheaffers. So I must be a bit more careful since I tend to use more pressure while writing and that makes the writing sometimes not as nice as I want to have it.
