Is that a manta ray skin watch band? It really dresses up that Luminor GMT nicely.

A Sicura manual Jump Hour with electric light. To my surprise it keeps great time. Sheaffer flat top with it, long and slender, these are my two favorite watch and pen. The bottle I painted myself, It is a hobby I have gotten into lately.

Thanks, it is a stingray band. Apparently a manta is larger than most stingrays and doesn't have a stinger (I had to look it up).

Well, it is beautiful, I will will have to look into them, especially if they are durable, I can go through some watch bands...

My mom recently passed this Elgin pocket watch down to me. It was her granddaddy's, the watch she and my uncle teethed on as pups. The serial number dates it to 1923. Unfortunately there's no one still around who knows when or where it was purchased. She has a few nice pictures of him in various stages of his life with the watch chain clearly visible. So far as I know this is the closest thing we have to an heirloom in the family, save a few Bibles.

Bphollin - Love that "Tibaldi?" grey/electric blue celluloid. Awesome stuff and a very nice Elgin pocket watch.

The "silvers" go well together.

Fun post. Here's what I will always consider my "Grail" pen because it was the first "modern" pen that captivated me (my Omas Arco Bronze Paragon) along with one of my favorite Omegas - a 1960's/70's era Cosmic 2000 Auto in stainless with gold hands and markers.

The Paragon is the "new" style and I like the size, heavier weight, and the metal section (though many here on the board prefer the original). The Omega has had the dial re-done and a replacement crystal installed. But no matter to me... "You love what you love!"

I think the "gold" tones and browns make them a pretty good match!

That's a Bexley Owner's Club pen (using the celluloid that is also used by/ associated with Tibaldi.)

Best, greg

Don't feel bad. I'm old; I'm meh about most things.

Here's another attractive Namiki/Lange couple from my collection. The pen is the Namiki Nightline which features multicolored abalone shells applied via the Raden lacquering technique with a Roiro-Urushi finish. Continuing with the nighttime theme, the watch is the Lange 1815 Moonphase. This was a limited edition Lange issued in 1999-2000 with 250 watches in red gold and 150 in platinum.

Great thread. Sorry, though, that I'm not much of a photographer. I guess I don't have the right lens to capture the amount of detail I was trying to.
