Please, tell us names of those pens and watches. But I can see that left pen in the first photo is some Montblanc Starwalker.

Please, tell us names of those pens and watches. But I can see that left pen in the first photo is some Montblanc Starwalker.

 

The first picture is a MB Starwalker, Sensa Black & Gold FP and an Omega X-33. The second picture is a set of Dunhill AD2000's (RB & FP) and a Breitling Colt.

What can you tell me about the Waterman lever-filler fountain pen and the p/watch with the half-hunter case in that first photo of yours (in the quote) on this page? They look like such a beautiful set!

 

Shangas, the Waterman is a '52' model in black hard rubber. This was one of Waterman's most successful pens ever, and there are still thousands around. There were a large number of variants, and this particular one has two 9ct gold bands. The nib is a fine semiflex, and one of the nicest writing pens in my collection.

 

The Waltham half-hunter is rolled gold - but nice and thick! - and dates from around the same period: 1910s - 20s. Waltham was an American watchmaking company, producing large quantities of good-quality everyday pocket (and wrist-) watches. They weren't, for the most part, in the same league as the Swiss makers, but excellent value and very robust. I think both objects represent a golden era of American manufacturing - producing products with real integrity for Everyman that had once only been the preserve of the privileged. It still keeps pretty good time!
