Yes they are!  I used to have a Casio sports watch that had several capabilities (including stuff like a timer) and it only cost me about $20 US.

I really should try to find another one at some point, but these days mostly use the date and time app on my cellphone.

Wow.  That's fancier than ANY of my 61s!  Of course the one that's currently in rotation doesn't have the section arrow, but *is* the only one besides my Flighter 61 that has yet to develop cracks....  (I'll take what I can get -- especially since the current one only cost me $2 US...).

It is rather a nice one.  I don't actually use it, though - after all it did in fact cost me more than $2.00 USD.  I have a couple of 61 Flighters I have used, and they are excellent writers.  But today, I brought into rotation after a longish time a circa 1919-20 Sheaffer Lifetime in BCHR.  Fantastic writer for being even older than I am (it is 10 years younger than my (obviously late) father.

The Doxa, watch, on the other hand cost me next to nothing - I got it in a flea market "batch" of old watches which I restored myself.  Some others in the same batch were a Hamilton 36000 and a Tissot 7.  The Hamilton one is a real find.  It was one of the early ultra-high beat watches popular in the period shortly before quartz watches became affordable for the masses, and was about the most accurate watch of its time, except maybe for the tuning fork ones like the Bulova Accutron.  The "36000" refers to the Adolf Schild movement with a beat of the balance wheel at 36000 half-rotations per hour (or 10 per second).  The most famous of these 10 BPS watches was and still is the Zenith El Primero.  The Tissot 7 was not a high-end watch, but cool-ish for its jazzy one-piece strap, and the funny little access port on the back so you could regulate the hairspring without opening the case, though alas I have no idea if or where one could ever find the specific tool needed nowadays.  It needed the little access port because it was a major pain to open the case by removing the crystal and popping out the entire movement from the front, just to access the regulator lever.  "Tool 107" is in fact the tool to remove the crystal, and I do have that one (yes I was doing my own watch (and pen) maintenance even 50 years ago).

One more watch of the early 70s ....  The wonky one-piece strap with the hole cut out was not just Tissot - Omega had one too.

The down side, of course, is that the only way to replace a strap is to have a leather crafter make you one.

Watches can have fun little surprises.  Also attached are pics of the insides of a Zenith 133.8 "bumper automatic".  The craftsman who made it put in a little surprise only a future watch repair guy would ever see - the ratchet wheel stopper is not just a lever, but a little bird, complete with a blued dot for an eye.
