Just watched the vid on disassembly-very cool. I will take one plain and one of the FPN variety as soon as possible.

Watching this thread has been very interesting and does give one some small feeling of being 'involved' in the project.

wow, this is great, when the good sample pen is ready I will send you one for you to prepare the instructions and manual.

As for the dinner, when we meet one day, we can go to whatever you like to have. haha!

I really like your new video. As soon as I get any new pen I like to completely disassemble it to get a feel for its care maintenance and possible uses, and here you've already shown us how to do it before we can even get our hands on one of your pens. I hope that you will include the little wrench with the pen as no other pen company has done so as far as I know and those of us who like to take care of our own pens have had to devise and make many of our own tools. The inclusion of that little wrench could also be a huge selling point with us fiddly types.

If you are really interested in having me help prepare your manual, which I am more than happy to do, as well as the pen I would need copies of the photos and illustrations that you would like included and also the size and format that you would need to take to the printer. I would also need to know the printing process that you choose to use as well as the paper type and ink (1 color, 2 color or 4 color process for example). Then there is the information that you would like to see in the manual; history of your company, company logos and associated illustrations, founder and employee photos, materials and manufacturing processes used, inspirations for ways to use the pen as well as the care and maintenance of the pen. To help figure out how you would like to present your instruction manual to your customers might I suggest that you look at the instruction manuals of other pen companies, Stipula for example has a very good instruction manual while Hero's manual, if one is included with the pen, is very basic. And the Nakaya pen catalogue is perhaps the most beautiful pen catalog that I have seen and well worth taking a look at for inspiration on how to present your pens to he public. I think that a pen like yours deserves a manual as well thought out and executed as the pen itself. With this information I could return to you the best instruction manual that is within my capabilities.

As for dinner I hope you don't mind Chinese. Hahaha. I'll make it on top of the mountain so at least the atmosphere will be different, and my recipes due tend to be more southern and influenced by Thai, Korean and Japanese tastes and techniques (I grew up in a multicultural neighborhood). But you might actually prefer Native American, Southern or traditional New Mexican food so we could have that instead. I like to cook even more than I like to play with fountain pens.

Really interested in this pen, even more after seeing the video. I think I'll buy one or two when available; they look great for school.

What kind of tests have you run on the section? I'd be concerned that a screw on section might lead to leaks at the section. Great looking pen. I'd definitely consider buying it. :)

ETA: well if there is a non-demonstrator version. ;)

Next week I should get the one cavity fast tooling parts from my China factory, by then we are able to assembly a complete pen to run all the test. I notice your concern about from section leaking issue. We will use o-ring... air lead test... to make sue this won't be an issue.

Speedy,

I do believe that you have created the third most addictive fountain pen website and blog on the internet. Your website and blog keeping us informed of the whole process of how a pen goes from design to testing is just about the best thing a fountain pen lover could hope for. I am absolutely fascinated by reading and watching how your pen is coming along.

Judging by all of our positive reactions here maybe you should think about starting a pen of the month club at TWSBI. You know maybe a nice little gift basket with a pen, a bottle of ink, some nice paper, a coffee mug and 5 pounds of the darkest roast coffee, or tea for us tea drinkers, so we can stay awake all night trying out the new pens.

I'll be a buyer of the FPN variety for sure. Fun watching here

I am always looking for good idea of next pen to produce, mainly, it should be a pen that the ture pen lovers like members here will like to have; either in design, function and price. These good idea must be from all of you, because by myself, I am not knowledge to know all of this. But I am pretty good on mass production though, hahaha!

Anyone come out with good idea I always treat him as good friend, and hoping someday we can become partner in some way.... Of course, I send him some of our pens as gratitude.

I hope someday all the interesting people can partner together in some way, share the profit, and do the charity together in the name of TWSBI.

All TWSBI sell in Taiwan direct through twsbi web store I provide 7.5% of the sell amount to the charity. I hope I can do the same in the States too....

Any good idea is welcome.

Speedy, I like the way you think. You seek knowledge and desire to share the results of what you have learned. You are right, you never know where a good idea will come from and the people who have good ideas should be acknowledged and encouraged to have more of them. In the case of your coming to the Fountain Pen Network, on the behalf of TWSBI, you have come to perhaps the greatest fountain pen consumer, testing, repair, making and design resource on the planet. Everyone on the FPN truly loves their fountain pens and each and everyone of them will test their personal pen choices, and share their knowledge of them, in many cases for years before deciding a pen's true worth in usability, sentimental value and monetary value. Here we discuss techniques, materials, tools, processes and ideas. Some, like yourself have gone on to create their own pens as a result of what they have learned. Others have gone on to learn fountain pen repair. Still others concentrate on the history. Not to mention all the ideas shared here on the uses of fountain pens. And everyone here has a fountain pen collection of what they consider to be the best examples that they can get ahold of. If a pen is built well, works well and proves its value and worth then we will recommend it to others without hesitation. And, if a pen doesn't work well then after testing, and to the best of our knowledge, we will first recommend possible ways to make a pen function better as we are fountain pen lovers and users who want the best products for ourselves and others to have access to. If a $2 fountain pen is built and works as well as a $1000 fountain pen we will recommend it just a highly. And if a $1000 fountain pen doesn't work we will let others know that as well. And of course each and everyone one of us has the desire to have our ideas someday be heard and listened to by a fountain pen company so that we can share in the pride of accommplishment when a new pen comes out by saying, "I helped in some small way to create that beautiful pen."

Speedy by coming here as a representative of TWSBI who is willing to listen to the vast knowledge that FPN members can provide and then the very next day be able show us the results of what you can accomplish with that knowledge is perhaps one of our greatest wishes as fountain pen lovers come true. One of the members here is Brian Gray and he created the Edison Pen Company. His approach to fountain pens is different than yours but his desire to learn and share what he knows, in the form of his finished pens, is the same. You should check out his website www.edisonpen.com as it is truly innovative in that Mr. Gray will actually, in real time, make the very pen that a customer orders as they watch so that the customer can call up while he's making the pen and offer suggestions and changes so that he can create the perfect pen for them and they can say, "I helped in some small way to create this pen." Now that is about the best customer service that I have ever encountered. And TWSBI by coming here is offering us the same chance to see the pens of our dreams and desires be created before our eyes and we'll be able to say, "I helped." On this particular website if you can show just one of us the worth of your pens everyone will know about it very shortly, in many cases a matter of minutes.

I have been very happy speaking with you and sharing ideas in this small forum, but might I suggest that you make another posting so that more members here will notice your company and see the process that you are sharing with us in the creation of your new pen. Something with a heading along the lines of, "New TWSBI Diamond Piston Fill Fountain Pen," "Help Design The New TWSBI Fountain Pen," "Help Design the Perfect Fountain Pen With TWSBI." You should try placing posts under the headings of Writing Instruments, Fountain Pen Reviews (when those of us here have had a chance to use your pens they will get a review), Market Watch and anywhere else that you think could attract attention to your company. If you continue to be as enthusiastic as you have been they may allow you to start a new forum dedicated to your process of creating a fountain pen, The TWSBI Forum. I think a TWSBI Forum would be the type of forum that many would be attracted to visit repeatedly because you are sharing the manufacturing process with us.

The design of your Diamond fountain pen has already grabbed the attention of a few of us. It has that rare quality of looking classic and modern at the same time. The piston filling mechanism is arguably the favored filling mechanism by most of us here on the FPN. Your logo is unique and really stands out on the cap and nib of your pen. Best of all you have designed the pen to be at a price point that is affordable to every fountain pen user while at the same time allowing your company more opportunities to make a profit and to gain more exposure. You design and build a high quality well performing fountain pen and mass produce it then I am sure that those of us here on the FPN will do everything that we can to help your company succeed. As I am sure you are beginning to see our desire for quality fountain pens carries us the world over in our searches and when we find one that meets and exceeds our expectations we will tell everyone we know about it, suggest that pen dealers carry it, where to find it and how to obtain one at a good price.

I was raised that if you truly wanted to learn something you have seek out the most knowledgeable people, demonstrate and prove your desire to learn, and if they choose to share their knowledge then you must return that knowledge to them in the form of new ideas or products. And if you have knowledge that someone truly wishes to learn then it is your obligation to share it with those that desire to truly learn it. You share cooperatively and everyone benefits as long as they are willing to put in the time and effort.

I wish you and TWSBI well and as always am willing to help you and your company out as much as I can.

Looked at your site and thought the Venezia fountain pen looks interesting. If I have used the correct conversion rate (Taiwan dollars?) it works out to be about £45. I could not access the USA link so did not see an English language version of your site.

Flourish,

Thanks for all your good comment. You do give me great support, thanks.

Your comment how I should make another thread and how I should title it, that's great! I will do it later one when I finish debuging the Diamond... and start preparing next pen.

Again, I have to thank everyone for your support. My only wish just hope I help to make fountain pen more fun for everyone, and bring people back to some simpler way of life; move slower, enjoy the life. We shouldn't exhaust the earth in 200 years of time.
