Sailor Profit Realo

Now I have confirmed hearing from a retailer that Sailor has shifted their jentle ink from present bottle to this bottle with the ink reservoir successively.

That's good news!

I have an old bottle of Parker Penman Ruby that uses a similar arrangement, though I suspect it will still be tricky to get those last few fills of ink.

many thanks

definitely not an in-built/internal piston?

The barrel is not a cylinder, but I think the Realo'filling system is a kind of piston filler, not a converter.

Thanks very much for your thorough review!

There seems to be some disagreement from various sources, both about the true ink capacity of the new Realo and that of the standard Sailor converter. Would you be able to measure these for us?

I tried to measure the ink capacity using a syringe. The result is about 1.0-1.1 ml. So I think 1.0ml is right.

Thanks very much!

These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value.--Thomas Paine, "The American Crisis", 1776

Would you happen to have any information about whether Sailor plans to bring out a Pro Gear version of the Realo 2009?

I am sorry. Ido not have any infomation regarding to your question. But I think the piston filling system can be diverted to Pro Gear pens easily.

Hi,

I recently purchased a Realo, but, unfortunately, it was not accompanied by the chushu ink: Is it possible that this ink will go on sale as a separate item?

Best Regards,

Andy

I confimed your question to the service center of Sailor. Their statement: Chushu alone is not available. The contents of the ink is secret.

But you can let Mr.Ishimaru, a ink blender make the color at an ink fair held by Sailor in various places ,Japan. Sailor has shifted Jentle ink from present bottle to the bottle with the ink reservoir successively.

anyone with a 1911 realo have any issues with the cap squeaking or rubbing as you screw it on? I thought that the nib may be bottoming out in the cap! I went to get it looked at, and all the other realos in the store had the same issue! The pen writes excellently, so there's no nib damage, but it did scare me a bit...

Mine and my colleague's 1911 Realo have no sounds when we screw them on. Your issues may be concerned with the spring in the cap. I think the nib is not bottoming the cap.

In any case, your Realo must be in not good condition. You had better contact the customer service of Sailor.

Wow, this seems like a great pen. Sailor nib + Piston Fill = Win

I hope this pen sells well, I'm glad to hear it's not going to be 'limited edition'.

Then maybe they'll come out with some different colors. And perhaps even rhodium trim? Then I'm sold.
