Despite it being a slightly 'quietish' day at Portobello yesterday, I had a surprisingly enjoyable time talking with the customers of the day, both dealing with vintage fountain pen inquiries, as well as passers-by, who stopped to ask about my overlaid pens. Needless to say, I didn't miss the opportunity to show them the two flat overlays that I have been working on this last weekend! There was no doubt in my mind, that the reaction was that the 'risquee lady' was the best one of the two, and I have to agree, I am so proud of the way it has 'captured' the image.

I must confess, that I have been carrying the two overlays around with me all week, just so that I can show people who I see while I am out! [i would like to point out that I don't just go up to people in the street and show them what I have made! That would just be silly!]

George, [my hairdresser] has said that he wants it when it's finished, so I am thinking in terms of doing a small number of them, but I will have to think of a better name for the pen, the 'risquee lady' just doesn't sound right, at least that's what I think! I will be sending both the overlays off to Neal on Monday, and I am hoping that he will be able to turn them round fairly quickly, so that I will have them back before next Saturday, then perhaps when 'she' has been posted on here someone will suggest a name for the pen. :hmm1:

Im feeling particularly happy this morning, I wonder why that should be? The sun has got his hat on, and it is a bright and sunny day, I've heard the local Cuckoo this morning, and I saw the Fox in the back garden while I was making a mug of tea, and as my great friend Norman used to say, "It's a great day to be sober!!!" :vbg: Perhaps that is just too much information!

Have a happy day!

I had a visit from one of the local turtles yesterday. She marched by my bathroom window, stopped to watch ME for a bit, then trundled on to make her way under my back fence to the lake beyond. It seems the pond across the way has insufficient water, so everyone of the water-loving variety is migrating into the lake until we get rain again.

When I say the ponds are low, I'm talking about 5 feet of bottom showing below the banks! :yikes:

What's wrong with risque lady as a name? Might make someone look!

I can't wait to see the pics when Neal gets them done. I have no doubt she will be breathtaking!

The only sun shining here today is on the inside....cloud9.gif

And any day above the grass is a good one in my book.wink.gif

Happy Sunday!

I say Ghost Plane, five foot of 'bottom' showing below the ankles [Oh! Sorry, below the banks!] sounded when I first read it like it was quite an eye-opener! :yikes:

But a few suggestions at this end are:-

Risquee Lady.

Risky Lady.

Frisky Lady.

Cop' a 'butcher's' at that!!!

[in this case the word 'butcher's' is derived from the term, butcher's hook, meaning 'Look' , in' Cockney Rhyming Slang.'

I suppose we should wait until the master of the camera has done his work, and then perhaps we can think of a good title for the overlay!

Ghost Plane, that five foot of bottom, still sounds rather alluring though!

I think that I'm basically a fairly patient type of man, but having spoken to the man at the Fed-X office, inquiring what they had in mind for my package delivery from Bruno, [in the USA!] which they had assured me they had tried to deliver on Thursday afternoon. [i was speaking to them on Friday BTW.] They ended the conversation by telling me that it would be delivered on Monday,,,,, "sometime between 8.00am and 6.00pm!"

"Eh! Is there any possibility you could give me a more accurate estimation of the delivery time?" I asked politely.

"'fraid I can't Sir!!!" -_-

So, I have waited indoors all day, until this afternoon, a person from the office told me that it will now be delivered tomorrow!

"Don't tell me, sometime between 8.00am, and 6.00pm? " I said. :hmm1:

"That is correct Sir!!!" :glare:

You couldn't make it up could you?

I put my 'day-in' to good use yesterday, working on an Alphonse Mucha design called, 'La Danse,' it is nearly finished, but I am having a bit of a problem with the surrounding area around the lady.

In case anyone is not familiar with the design, you can Google it, it is about the 3rd or 4th title down the page, a beautiful design, I think. :puddle:

It looks as though I will be 'in' again today, so there is no excuse for me not to get this one done.

Neal should have received the Risquee Lady today, so she should be making an appearance here pretty soon! I hope!

Ghost Plane, is it beyond the bounds of possibilities that you might be able to go to the Dallas Pen show? [21st and 22nd September.] It would be great to meet you there if you could make it! I will be going

See Y'awll!!!

Well..........I leave you unread for a day or two and look what happens! Neal posts pics of fairies, and Henry decides to put on his traveling boots to go scooting to Dallas! Now, how hot does it get in Dallas in September????

I love - LOVE - :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: the fairies.........can't decide which one yet - I'll have to sleep on it! Risky Lady will be along shortly too I suppose.............but in the meantime - how about this for a picture???

Dallas would be a 2 day drive for me flat out or a rather overpriced plane ticket. :headsmack: Let's get me over the May slice and dice and then see how I'm going to pay for all the nice medicos first.

That's a shame Ghost Plane, one day perhaps I will meet you!

In the meantime, my parcel still hasn't turned up! I phoned their office, but got their message machine, so I left a message asking them to ring me, I left my number, still, nothing happened.

Guess who I'm going to phone tomorrow morning?

I've just spoken to the 'nice' man at Fed-X, and apparently the package is on the van at the moment, and should be delivered before lunchtime! Isn't that wonderful?

The only thing that I can say about the Fairy's series, are that I think that Neal has done an amazing job capturing the images as usual, avoiding the light reflection from the flat overlays, I have it in mind to use the Fairy's series images for a new pamphlet that will be required in the near future.

I have nearly finished the 'La Danse' overlay, I am really pleased with it/her! Just a little 'fine tuning' on the engraving I think!

The 'warm fussies' check, will be in order Esterbex, just ask at the desk, and I will be available to give you all the assistance I can! OK? :hmm1:

See y'awll!!!
