Ghost Plane,

As you are well aware, my expertise with computers is the stuff of legend! So I am not able to draw you a picture of how the thing works! Think of it just like a normal teapot, right, now think in terms of an extended cylinder coming down from the underside of the lid [approximately 4 inches in depth] now, this cylinder fits very snugly inside the 'mouth' of the teapot, so snugly in fact that it acts like a pump when the thumb is place onto the little hole in the handle of the lid,the lid is pressed down, the pressure goes up inside the teapot, and out comes the tea!!

Voila!!! As they say in Outer Mongolia!

Troglokev,

You're a genius, as in 'a real cotton pickin' genie!!!

You,,,,, You amaze me you do.... in fact you frighten me a bit Troglokev!!! :yikes:

All those brains, all crammed up in one normal sized head!!! S'creepy to me!!! AWWWWWWWWWWSome!!! :yikes:

Flake,

Welcome to this thread! :W2FPN:

We are a self-help group of like minded people with 'desky-connected' interests, and a weird sense of humour, which bursts out from time to time. Don't be scared to say anything on here, most of us do just that!

Two very happy faces there...........thanks Hugh! One of these days I'll stand where you stood - and see what all that mess is on the shelves behind you both!! :roflmho:

Nice pens, BTW, any other pics of them or samples of how they perform???

Thanks Chris. Apologies for taking so long to reply - I've been away from the confuser for a few days.

Here we go...

My Conway Stewart in a unique casein color and pattern with a stub nib:

Here's how it writes (like a dream):

And here's my Parker Duofold in gloss black with a stub nib:

And here's how it writes (also like a dream!):

Thanks again, Henry. These are treasures forever!

Thanks Hugh....those pictures and writing samples were well worth waiting for!! Lovely pens from Henry's 'other' world of pens.......vintage beauties!!! It is a good thing, I think, that I live so far away, and that hints dropped fall on deaf ears!! :roflmho:

Henry........... you are a real 'caution' - honestly!!! :ltcapd:

Little do you know that I had the honour to sit next to Troglokev at the pre-show dinner in Melbourne in 2009.........and you should see what he does with his pens!!! He is gifted in the extreme - Japanese calligraphy with the finest of nibs..........and in the near-dark that was that restaurant's only failing.........we could have done with much more lighting that night!! Kev, do you remember what we all ate? I don't - and that comes from a woman who loves food.........it could have been cardboard! There were so many wonderful pens at that table, better than at the show the next day!

I can't say Kev had a strange head either.........so agree with you.............AWWWWWWsome! :eureka:

In case anyone is interested, I'm loving the Snake and the Onoto pens.......... and they will remain in my little group of constantly inked pens whilst others come and go - in and out of rotation! The Spirit pen is another......because it's so big there is nowhere to store it in the safe!

:puddle:

Each day is the start of the rest of your life!

Make it count!!!

Let me see now... I had the slow-cooked lamb shanks, you had some Montblanc LEs and a few Henry Simpoles, Soki had a Semiramis and a bunch of similarly glittery things, Skybird and Parker Pete had a superb collection of Vacumatics, YSG had some lovely Omas' and a MYU, and Shangas turned up late and spent the entire evening talking to dodgy-looking characters, trying to score some Amodex, as I recall.

No... that can't be right! (apart from the lamb shanks, which were delicious)

Ah! someone with a working memory........and excellent taste in dining companions! Poor Shangas, he did have a head-ache, I can remember that! I think I'm still recovering from that head-long dive into such pen-dom............ it was a bit much for such a newbie!!!

Can you get there next year? :notworthy1:

Bruno,

If you're looking at this, our overlays are going to be dropped off at the Assay office today!

I'm sorry about the delay, but I will be sending them off to you when I have collected them early next week! OK?

Next year? Probably. This year there's an eclipse happening in the north of Australia, so I may be in the NT...

What fun!!! I was living in Cornwall for a total eclipse............and was sure the Cornish Peninsular would disappear under the sea - there were so many people there to witness it - and it was peak tourist season too! Quite an eerie experience.......and I'm glad I had friends staying - the birds all roosted, my little dog ran and hid, and to watch the shadow approach across the miles was something I'll never forget - even if we had total cloud cover at the time. Cairns is in for a fun time!!!

Is this going to be the date of the pen show I wonder??? Quite auspicious!!! :notworthy1:

I'm all ahead of myself this morning!

I'm just waiting for a good friend of mine, who wants to come up to Portobello with me today, he is a very keen fountain pen collector/restorer, and no doubt he will find some gems at the market, while I am looking after the stand!

Despite everybody's talk about the recession, and the credit crunch and all the 'doom and gloom' in the retail markets, today turned out to be a very good day one way and another!

I just thought I would spread a little happiness, at these times of despondency!!!

I was kept quite busy most of the time that I was at my stand at Portobello Road, both 'known' customers who come from time to time, and also some new customers.

I'm off to the West Country very early in the morning, so hopefully I should be in bed fairly early tonight!

See Y'awll! :thumbup
