Has Anyone Heard Of Henry Simpole?

The Rock Star lifestyle is a rough one it seems. All those wild parties and such can take a toll on a body. Keith took it to a whole different level. And he's still breathing. Amazing! Henry beware....

Hang on a minute!!!

I think that this 'mistaken identification' thing has gone far enough! B)

I might have you know, that I signed 'the pledge' some 28 years ago, I can still 'cut a rug' on the dance floor, [provided a good Frank Sinatra record is playing!]

But I think it's rather unlikely that I will be following on along the Rock and Roll lifestyle, for the foreseeable future anyway!!!

Dear Henry! Don't get frazzled.............surely being compared to an aged rock star is a compliment - or should be!

Your 'aged rock star' is, as we speak, probably waiting patiently for his next wife to be born - so give him some rope...........he must be totally frazzled by now!

How I would love to see you cutting a rug to Frankie!!! :roflmho: :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01:

Just to keep on track, any news of the collaborative babies yet??

I suspect he's secretly hoping to be compared with Justin Bieber, Chris.

I most certainly hope not, Kev! I'd crawl under a rock in that case!

Yes Chris, the Bruno/Simpole collaborative pens are 'coming along' nicely! They have yet to be Hall-Marked, but that will be done this side of Christmas.

In the meantime, there are a few bespoke designs that have been waiting patiently in line for a little while.

Troglokev: Who is this Justin Bieber? Aren't they makers of Epoxy resin adhesive? Perhaps I've got that wrong!

See y'awll!

You must be thinking of Lothar W. Bieber, who did some work on glycosides in the 1980s. I don't know if he published anything on epoxies, though.

Henry, Justin is a musician, of sorts. The sort that makes little girls go wild, and cringingly reminds grown women of the follies of their youth. He makes Noddy Holder look like an intellectual. An achievement, of sorts.

Youth is wasted on the young..............now, who said that? Queen Vic?

News of pens being prepared for hallmarking is always a good sign - and of course bespoke pens even more so!!!

I fancy bespeaking one with a Ladybird(bug) design.............what do you say????

Forsooth fair maiden!

But what do you bespeaketh about!? A ladybug pattern overlay pen indeed!

I must informeth you, that there are a wide range of ladybugs from which to choose from, and having made thy choice, then I suggest that you bespeak to me about the type that thou hast bechosen, from amongst the many varieties! After much deliberationings then would be the time for you to make it known about your bespoken pen!

I awaiteth your decision, fair maiden! ;)

PS. The bespoken pen waiting list gets bigger by the month at this moment in time, methinks that the sooner you maketh your mind up the quicker I can start thinking about that which we have been bespeaking about!!! I hopeth that this all maketh some semblance of sense! :ltcapd:

I have been 'bespeaking' to an artist friend of mine about these 'Ladybugs'!

He has promised to 'bespeak' to a friend of his who is into entomology [the study of bugs!] with a view to providing some images of the little bugs!!! :hmm1:

I will keep you 'beposted' after I have 'bespoken' to him again! ;)

I love the ladybird(bug) overlay idea! The Ants pen is one of my favorites pictured on Henry's website--I imagine the ladybird(bug) pen would be just as stunning, and slightly less creepy. :D

I am pleased to report that today's proceedings at Portobello Road was really quite busy, it seems that quite a few people decided to choose Fountain Pens as Christmas presents this year! It was made even more pleasant, as a result of 'Amble63' coming in to see me at my stand in the arcade. She seemed very pleased to peruse my overlaid pens, and we chatted about the Fountain Pen Network, as well as talking about inks [which I don't pretend to know a great deal about!] but all in all it was a very nice meeting of two 'pen fanciers'. Someone who was at the stand at the same time, kindly took a photograph of the two of us [in the booth!] which I suppose might be posted here at some later date.

I am hoping that I will be able to start the drawings for one of the bespoke overlay designs tomorrow, [as I have cleared the decks as it were, in my workshop] now that the Onoto Overlay Pens have been dispatched.

Any more pictures of Ladybirds? BTW? :( [i'm not having a great deal of success over in my area!]

I didn't realize until just this morning that ladybirds is another name for ladybugs. That's what happens with a discussion that involves at least three continents. I found that if you just search Google Images for ladybugs, you get lots and lots of pictures.

I'm reminded of a time back in my college days (about 40 years ago)... I took a drive along the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. We stopped at the side of the road where there was a meadow, about an acre in size. It had an eerie shimmer to it. As we approached we found that it was covered completely (and I mean completely) by a blanket of ladybugs. I've never seen anything like it since.
