Good morning!!!

I'm sorry about my tantrum yesterday morning!

I've been thinking, I reckon that the pen should be called 'The Simpini No:9'. :eureka:

Any objections?

Bruno, how do you feel about the name?

Anybody?

OK! I think I'm going to have a lie down in a darkened room!

Simpini No. 1 would be more accurate. Chris was referring to the lineup of her future acquistion me thinks (with the greenest of eyes!).

Doesn't really matter to any of us, so long as we get one....:puddle:

ETA: Lest we've forgotten what they look like...

thank you again Wendi! I was indeed referring to it becoming #9 of my collection of Simpole overlays!!!

I am going to stay shtum on this - as I tend to go silly when it is obvious that naming the first overlay pen by Henry and Bruno is a serious matter!

If pushed 'Patricia' is still delightful! :bunny01:

Good morning!

When I got up this morning, [pretty early, in fact 'very' early even for me on a Saturday, but I woke up before the alarm went off, and decided to get up anyway!] I went to this thread, and after reading the posts that had been done while I was 'dormant', I scrolled down to see how many people were looking at the thread, and low and behold, there were 25 people on here!!! It is very gratifying to know that this thread is still 'interesting' enough for people to look in.

On a more serious note, can I suggest that we don't make any decisions regarding the name for the pen until Bruno has made his final position known?

"I mean, what have the Romans ever done for us, Eh?!!!" [The Life of Brian.] ;)

Well, I must be off to Portobello Road soon, and see what the day has to offer.

See y'awll!!!

It's a shame some of the voyeurs aren't a bit more vocal on occasion....ah well. It's probably hard to get a word in edgewise around here on occasion what with the jabber mouths we've already got, eh?

Err! I don't know about anybody else here, but I couldn't see what exactly was 'snagged' from the Arkansas Pen Show thread!

As you know, I'm not exactly the world's greatest computer user, but I didn't see 'it'!!!

Any tips?

Correction, I got there in the end! I went to 'Search' Arkanasa Pen Show 2011, and saw it!

It's not very clear, but the one on the Arkansas Pen Show thread is much clearer!

Well............... we have our own "Rock Star"!!! :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01:

My machine wouldn't co-operate either with Wendi's link, so it may only be available that way in USA!

Thanks to Watch_art for making the video work on FPN - and thanks Wendi for putting in so much effort.........and of course thanks also to Henry, Little Rock and the Pen and Watch Show people.........have I missed anyone???

Where will Henry appear next............and what will he be showing as his latest work apart from Bruno's babies??? :puddle:

Bruno's Babies. I like the sound of that for some reason.

Anyway, sorry Chris and Henry about the link not working....darn international firewalls! But as always, Shawn saved the day. (I must get a peep at that "S" on his chest one of these days.)

Having spent a reasonable amount of time yesterday, writing my Christmas cards and envelopes, I just thought that I would share something with you.

In this day and age where people seem generally to have taken to the computer almost completely [obviously I'm not referring to us Fountain Pen users!] some of them go to the trouble of creating their own designed Christmas cards, and print them off somehow on their 'machines', some even with the Christmas message inside, all very impressive,[ I'm the first person to take my hat off to someone who can do something that I cannot do!] but what I don't understand is when they actually 'print' their names inside instead of just writing 'from Kevin and Tracy'. or whatever their names are!

When I do my cards, I use Parker Green ink, [which I use almost all the time anyway!] and because I use a broad italic nib which could never be mistaken for a ball-point, it is so nice to be told when I meet some of the recipients after the Festivities and they thank me for the card, and then say something like:- "and of coarse you used a fountain pen."

I have to confess, that when the 'chore' comes around each year [of writing the Christmas cards] it does seem a daunting task, but when I get started, I find that I quite enjoy doing it! After all, it was because of two or three important letters that I had to write about 25 or so years ago, that led to my conversion back to the pleasure of writing with fountain pens, then collecting them, then restoring them, then trading in them!

It's a funny old world!!!

Henry a rock star! I loved that video! So great to see these pens.

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

I think you may have mistaken me for someone else Troglokev! The gentleman in the picture, is Keith Pritchard, [or some name like that] who plays in the popular group named the 'Strolling Bones' I believe, they were quite well known during the sixty's! It's probably the dark glasses which caused the mistaken identity! B)

I think I'm right in saying that they are still playing, but I fear that the hay-day of Skiffle groups are over, it's very sad really! :crybaby:
