Has Anyone Heard Of Henry Simpole?

However, for a couple of magical minutes I was transported to the hotel bar at Columbus Ohio by a phone call from Bruno, following a phone photo............and I've heard voices!!!! Yes, I heard voices......... :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01:

It just occurred to me, Chris, that I was in a different time zone in Ohio and it was actually three hours earlier than I thought. I hope I didn't wake you... or more importantly, I hope I didn't wake Ray.

If I remember how the tables were setup, that's Paul Erano with his back to us behind Henry. I spent time talking to Paul and Henry, and found them both to be super friendly and informative people.

There was also another guy that was either on Henry's immediate left, or one table down, that is also a silversmith and had some very nice pens too. He was really friendly and knowledgeable too, but I can't remember his name.

They gave me a sheet listing all the exhibitors and their locations when I registered for the show, but I seem to have misplaced it. :(

That was Andy Beliveau next to Henry.

I say, Henry is looking as though he is in very deep concentration in that first picture! It's almost like I am unaware that Steve Mandel was there watching me, I certainly wasn't aware that you had taken a picture while I was working!

I can't wait to see the pictures of you wearing the 'baby' overlayed pen, and I'm so pleased that you like it!

PS. Another thing that I saw on the back of a car while in the US of A:-"Any society that would give up a little liberty, to gain a little security, will deserve neither, and probably loose both!!!" Benjamin Franklin."

Hi again Bruno!

I've just got back from dropping the masters off at Hatton Garden so that they can be 'cast.'

While I was up in town, there were no less than four Police Helicopters flying overhead, and there must have been at least 20 Police Vans waiting to see how/if things got nasty, with the student's protesting about the University fees being increased!

Well Bruno, I should be able to get the casts off to you within the next couple of weeks, so let me know how the advanced orders are coming along!

STYS, no doubt!

Esterbex, your Peter Pan overlay is gorgeous! I just love the droplet pattern! How does it write? Is that your first Simpole? :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01:

I'm afraid it is so tiny I would be afraid to attempt it. It is even smaller than my dinkiest Dinkie. I am quite pleased to let it hang in a place of honour and very close to my heart.

And yes...it is my first Simpole pen! Baby steps....:bunny01:

Dear Bruno!

You didn't wake me, if I remember, it was daylight here, and I was at my desk as usual - and then transported by the magic of friends to a meeting so special........and I did hear the words too!!!

Thank you for that........... do I owe you for the magic carpet fare???? :roflmho:

So there I was, at about 5.45am this morning, fast asleep, and I woke up and decided to get up and start the day a bit earlier than usual.

Can anyone tell me about the reason for people [who you have never met] asking you to be your friend, on web-sites such as this one? Is it something akin to what goes on on 'facebook'? I know that this must sound as though I am being terribly antisocial but I would feel guilty if I said "No!", but logic tells me that it would be insincere to say "Yes!"

It reminds me of being in the school playground, [when I was very young!] and someone had a bag of sweets, and I would ask the person for one of them, if the answer was "No!" then I would say something like:-" I'll be your best friend!!!" It sometimes worked, but it doesn't stand up to much scrutiny does it?

I don't know...........'Modern living', perhaps I'm just growing into a grumpy old man!

Warm Fussies indeed!

Oh! I see, you mean that they are notified when I go to the Web-site, you mean that a little bell rings on their computer when I do? That's terrible! Big Brother is closer than I thought!

Right I've made my mind up, I'm not going to answer the message!

And now I'm going to go down to the bottom of the garden, and eat worms, big juicy ones!!!

People can see if you're online if they go to your profile to look at the "last online" and "currently" boxes, but there aren't any ringing bells or alarms that go off. If you sign in anonymously, it will list "last online" as "private" and "currently" will say "offline." I sign in anonymously in order to avoid Big Brother.

As far as the friends list thing goes, I tend to "friend" people whose posts I especially enjoy. I may not have met them face-to-face, but they are the people I regularly "interact" with on FPN.

Even if it's too tiny to write with, it's still a gorgeous work of art. I like that you can wear it close to your heart.

For your information GP, I was having a 'hissy fit' [spoilt brat!] and I was referring to the earth worms dug up from the good earth!!! Yummie!

Not warm fussies by stealth!

Well, I have 'Lady Frances' coming to see me tomorrow at Portobello, to pick up the pen which she saw at the Goldsmith's Hall Exhibition, it is the Art Deco Style 'Lady' design.

I am feeling particularly happy right now because I have done the pens that I bought at Columbus Pen Show, so they are ready to put into my stock.

See Y'awll!

Will I actually post this on the thread?????

All this talk of 'warm fuzzies' or 'warm fussies' combined with 'gummy worms' and then 'earth worms' topped off by Peter Pan being too small to write with, but perfect to hang near a heart......

:bunny01:  :roflmho: :bunny01:

makes me realise I am spending too much time alone with my thoughts!!! Back to writing for me!

Oooh! New business end for the Onoto flies to Tassie !!

edited to add.........I forgot to say - fine italic nib in the Onoto :cloud9: thank you Henry!
