Has Anyone Heard Of Henry Simpole?

You guys are certifiably nuts! And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

I've been keeping track of this thread for a month or two now, from just before Mr. Simpole introduced us to his dragon pens (having read the twenty odd pages over several days). Now, I have to admit that while I am a huge admirer of the workmanship of the overlays, they weren't exactly my cup of tea - being more of an Art Deco man myself. But those Dragons ... WOW. I was seriously thinking about splurging ... but then they got snapped up before I could blink.

So I bought a Yard-O-Led instead ... which is beautiful, and I blame Ghost Plane for that too!

As far as I can tell this thread seems to be a conversation between four people. Oh well, at least it "keeps the loonies off the path". (And I hope I'm not intruding!)

I suppose I just posted to tell you "Ve are vatching you. Veerry closely".

RGH

P.S. Henry, I will be back in England visiting my sister sometime at the end of December, will you be at the Portobello Market then, or are you taking a well deserved holiday?

P.P.S As a newbie do I have to be introduced to the Mysteries of the Dancing Bunny? Or can I just post one without being indoctrinated.

Well :bunny01: and :bunny01: . So there!

I think we're the regulars when a pen design isn't in the works. Had quite a bit more on the Spirit thread when we were in the throes of designing it and this one heats up when Henry announces availability or Neal manages to snap a pic of one we haven't seen before.

RGH, I am a card-carrying certifiable nut and proud of it! :cloud9:

And we are just a very happy bunch, actually, so bunny-dancing is allowed by anyone full of mirth and glee.....You already fit the profile apparently, so welcome to the fold....:bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01:.

There are quite a few silent partners :ninja: but a few of us are more vocal :clap1: .

RGH,

Yes, I will almost certainly be at Portobello Road [from 7.00am till 2.00pm] unless something untoward happens in the meantime! I suppose we are a bit peculiar in comparison to others here at FPN, we all seem to share the same taste in fountain pens,[and I'm not just talking about mine!], but most of us seem to be the type of person who just enjoys writing with them as well as enjoying their beauty. We all seem to have similar tastes in humour, Monty Python, Rowan and Martin Etc:

On that note I think that we are not the 'serial number brigade'!!! type of collectors!

Do keep 'popping in' to see what's happening, it's always nice to have guests. We don't bite!

RGH, welcome, welcome! Henry's work is even more stunning in person. I envy your trip to Portobello Road--I imagine Henry's booth there is quite the fountain pen wonderland. :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01:

PS: I am one of the proud and lucky Dragon Pen owners. It is probably the most amazing pen in my entire collection and that is no exaggeration.

The Wise Ones say to start with a little bottle/vial/jar/empty ink bottle and do the mix counting drops! :notworthy1:

I just have those very long pipettes from Pendemonium years ago, and do the 'one squeeze or two' method and hope for the best!!! :roflmho:

What time is it now in London???? Just gone 1am - so Henry must be full of good food and fast asleep...................shhh! :headsmack:

Good Moaning.

Glad you recognized the quote! I must admit I thought 'Allo 'Allo might be stretching a bit. Not sure if it was 90's or late '80s. Anyway that was my era of watching TV!

'Keep the loonies off the path' was of course Pink Floyd.

I will definitely attempt to make Portobello Rd come December - although I will probably be too shy to make myself known to you. I'll just be the one that keeps looking at the pens for half and hour without saying anything!

So, are you going to be there at Columbus, Esterbex!!!?

That sounds really good news! I hope you're not going to go down with one of your attacks of the 'Warm Fussies' [which I know you are rather prone to particularly when on your travels!]

I'll get 'my people' onto it, to check your room out, we can't have you suffering as a result of the dreaded 'stiffness' which can set in quite quickly if it is not dealt with promptly! :roflmho:

So, you are going to record my talk, Huh?

See you there!!!

A very good friend of mine has told me to 'not forget my pyjamas, to put under the pillow, in case of a fire in the hotel!!!'

It's very nice to think that some people have my interests at heart, so as long as the 'Warm Fussies' are under control I should be alright.

I've just been packing up ready for posting 5 packages so I have cleared the decks of the current repairs. The rest of the day will be taken up with preparing some sheets of silver for me to demonstrate the 'piercing out' at the Columbus show.

I must say, I'm a really happy bunny today! :bunny01:

It's a shame the governmental powers that be didn't inform the automatic alarm clocks that daylight savings time ends next Sunday rather than today. I'd have been very late arriving anywhere this morning if I'd had anywhere to be.... :roflmho:

3 days til Ohio!!! :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01:
