Probably Jeremy Clarkson with a big stick... ;)

Or Jordan. I can just imagine Henry explaining the ins and outs of overlays and bindes to her.

Jeremy Clarkson even without a big stick is scary!!! :gaah:

Could be the Queen.........if it is, can you give her any pens due to fly to Oz..........she's visiting this month and promises to pop in for a cuppa! I got an email saying "put the kettle on Skizz!" :ninja:

Ah, but I've got Harry over here beating the air into submission.

The English aristocracy have always gone in for that sort of thing.

Hi there from far away in suburbia!

One of my celebrities did turn up, the other one didn't unfortunately. But there is still one more day to go!

'Lady' Francis dids appear yesterday at the Goldsmith's Hall, [she is not of the same variety as one sees in the 'Little Britain' series!!!BTW!] and she and I have been drooling over both vintage and my modern pens for a very long time now, in fact I first met her when I first started doing Antiques Fairs nearly 20 years ago. It seems as though she has fallen for one of the Art Deco design Lady with an exaggerated feather head-dress, [not Francis, the lady depicted on the pen!!!]

Anyway, she is going to think about it and get back to me.

So that is my news!

Hi guys, I have read the post about Henry and truly agree that he is amazing. :notworthy1:

I was wondering what's his work about? I've been to his website and his pens are so beautiful! So does he make those pens? Or does he collects and sell vintage pen? I saw the nibs is from Conway steward, does that means those are vintage pens modify by him?

I'm sure Henry will reply to your questions when he gets a minute - but if I may be so bold - he makes the siver overlays by hand and fits them to specially made carcasses - and uses Conway Stewart nib units. Apart from all of that he also repairs vintage pens........and modern ones too I supopose. All that beautiful work on his website is indeed by his hand and brain!!! Now you join a dedicated group of admirerers............welcome!

Hi there!

I'm back home, and absolutely exhausted! Over a thousand of my pamphlets were taken away by the show's visitors, ands masses of my business cards were taken, all in all it was a very successful PR exercise.

Sadly the male celebrity didn't make it, but it will keep till another time.

While I was having lunch in the dining room, my trusty friend Tim told me when I came back that an American had come up to the stand, and asked a few questions about the pens, and then he noticed the cards on the side, and then he asked Tim if the maker's name was Henry Simpole? To which Tim told him that it was! "Oh!" He said, "He's quite famous over in the States!" To which Tim just smiled and said 'Yes, I suppose he is, in some circles." [Never knowingly undersold is our Tim!]

Unfortunately he didn't come back, which was a shame, as I would have liked to have found out where he had heard about me!

Now I feel as though I would like to lie down in a darkened room for a little while!!!

Do you have any overlay pens in your collection? Henry's are even more impressive in person. Have you chosen a favorite yet? Any fantasy pens in your dreams?
