That wouldn't be a case of the 'warm fuzzies' again, would it?

You want to be careful of that, you know!!!

Hi 'reprieve'! Sadly I only hosted and posted that photo of the delicious red Waterman family!

What I would give to have just one of them............any one would be wonderful! At least I can drool in private!

Henry is responsible for some serious heart exercises - all over the world! :cloud9: :cloud9:

Henry and Neal have asked me to post these photos for them - a nib that Henry repaired and Neal photographed!!! Sadly no 'before' shots! Enjoy!

Wow! I don't know which is more amazing....the repair or the photography!

As you can see, these are pictures of the Watermans 20 nib, it is such a pity that I didn't ask Neal to photograph it before I worked on the nib! If you can imagine what it looked like, I can only compare it with looking at your index and middle fingers 'bent' slightly, and they bend at both knuckles....... that is how it looked before!

I was so proud of how it worked out, that is why I asked Neal to do some more excellent photographs of it!

See yawll!!!

Chris, thanks again for hosting / posting.

I didn't see this magnificent nib before Henry repaired it, but all I can say is that there are no signs at all that it was ever damaged! Marvellous!

Withdrawals are setting in....What ho of the lovely Waterman's 20? At home at last? Satisfied client one hopes!

And the just as lovely Onoto....still mopping drool here. Wonder if HP would give us another assessment since it has been in her enviable possession for a time.... :notworthy1:

Any further developments on the new overlay project? RHR has not lost it's siren effect and bit-chomping has ensued.... ;)

Whilst I was away in Cornwall last week, I was asked about a repair of a Dunhill Namiki pen which has been in the wars!

The person who made the inquiry has taken some photographs, and he is in the process of sending the pen to me. I will ask his permission to post them on this thread, and perhaps do a 'before and after', it is the sort of repair that I get quite enthusiastic about, and if the result is really good, then I always regret not having sorted any images from before I have worked on the pen!

I will keep you informed in due course!

It was such a pleasure reading this thread and seeing all those beautiful pens I though I will add a couple of pics, for the pleasure off the eye, of a Conklin Crescent with a Henry Simpole overlay I just bought a few months ago... I have decided to keep the patina and not clean it for the time being... It is a delight to write with...

Hi Ariel,

I'm very pleased to hear that you like the overlay on the Conklin Fountain Pen, It was one that I probably did quite a while ago, even perhaps as long ago as 1998! I wonder however who did the engraving on the overlay? Unless I am very much mistaken, it was not me! It is extremely good, but I know that at that time my skills in that direction were not as good as that.

You will find that the best way to clean the pen, [without loosing any of the patina], is to use a dry face flannel, rubbed briskly over the body and cap of the pen.

I hope that you continue to enjoy the pen.

Thank you for the advice about the cleaning... It is such a pleasure to feel the pen in the hand i do not want to do anything yet.... Next time I see George (the one I bought it from) I will ask him to clarify...

See you in London Oct 2nd anyway...

Regards, Ariel
