Has Anyone Heard Of Henry Simpole?

Sounds like it's time to hire a personal assistant to attend to those laborious tasks....;)

You should only be concerned with creating beauty....not passwords.

I have just had the most horrendous situation, which occurred when I was down in Cornwall this week, when I used my Lap-top computer while I was in 'foreign parts', I went on FPN, only to discover that I was not logged in when I tried to post something on here! When I tried to remember my password, it kept telling me that I had got it wrong, anyway, it then offered to help, but it explained that I would need to copy down a line of letters and numbers to ensure them that I was who I was telling them that I was! All very logical, but the numbers and letters amounted to the entry code to somewhere like Fort Knox!!! [i don't know how to transfer things like that on my machine!]

Anyway, having copied it all out longhand, and pumped it in, as you can see, I have managed to get back into the FPN, and posted this very important message to everyone who has looked in! I'm sure you wouldn't have slept tonight unless you had read all that!

So now I have got three lists of code words, and passwords, and ID numbers written down, and I don't know which one will work next time it happens! Hey! Hoo!

See Yawll!

You can create a new password in your profile. Click on your username at the top right, click on "My settings" in the drop down box that appears, next click on "Change password" on the left hand side, and change it to whatever you like.

I feel very lucky that I was able to watch the master at work. While at the Arkansas Pen show I stood on the side lines and watched as Henry turned a plain piece of silver into a stunning work of art.

I am truly baffled, and pleased.

Thank you for the memories Henry! It is something I will always cherish. (lord knows that I can not afford the pens! So I have the much less expensive memories! HA!)

WIMG.

I have just been to my 'Profile', and I can't for the life of me find USERNAME along the top, leave alone on the right!

Either I'm blind, or I have got a different page that I'm looking at!

I've got to go out in a minute, [i have been booked to give a talk about the history of the Fountain Pen, surprise surprise! But at least I'm getting out more!!!]

I'll try again over the weekend.

Just out of interest, am I going to my 'Profile' when I click on the name:- 'Truffle Finder' on one of my 'postings'? If not, how do I get there?

Truffle Finder.

I think that my problem is that I don't know what all these Cyber Names mean, or are refering to!!!

The top right corner of this page. I didn't give any instrctions to click on your profile, I mentioned to click on your user name (or member id as it is properly called), and click on "My settings" in the little drop down box that this shows after clicking.

Please read carefully.

Don't panic, just read carefully.

These are not cyber names, just the names used for different parts of the board, i.e., the forums etc. here. The are very much what streetnames and house numbers (or names) are in a city. That is all there is to it.

Anyway, look again at the top right of the screen. You will see "Truffle Finder" there. That is what I was referring to. Let me repeat the instructions one more time, from scratch.

1) At the top right of the browser window, you will find yoru member id, "Truffle Finder".

2) Click on "Truffle Finder" -> a little drop down box appears.

3) The second option (line) from the top in that box says: My Settings

4) Click on "My Settings"

5) The window now displayed has as title: Your Options

6) Underneath this title, there are a few tabs, currently "Settings" is selected. That is fine. Leave as is.

7) On the left hand side, underneath th etitle and the row of tabs, a few options are displayed.

8) The one currently highlighted (and displayed in the window towards the right), is "Genral Settings", such as Time Zone, etc. We don't need this one, but th ethird option, called: Chaneg Password.

9) Click on that, and owrds the right it will give you now the option to change your password.

I hope I made it clear enough for you this time.

It does pay to try out the different options in this forum every now and then. Just take ten minutes at a time and see what you can find next. It is that simple, honestly. And almost everything here is clickable too.

Eureka!!!

Thank you so much,WIMG!

I sat down at the computer this morning, and wrote out your instructions, [i have to admit, I was more than a little sceptical!] anyway, I managed to do it, although I was stuck when it came to being asked for my current Password, thankfully, I had written it down yesterday when they gave it to me, [the Fort Knox entry number!!!] so I was able to proceed.

I would like to be able to say that I am looking forward to the next time when I come on to FPN, to find that I am not 'Signed In', and I am asked to give my Password, and user name!

I just hope that I will remember it the next time!

Thank you once again.

Thankfully there is a God in Heaven and a wimg on Earth!

I heard that all faiths that celebrate this Holy Day are doing so at the same time this year....synchronicity is a beautiful thing....

Happy Easter weekend to all!

So, am I correct in assuming that Ridvan refers to Easter? Ghost Plane?

Are you still there?

Happy Ridvan!

In the sense that it is the renewal of the Covenant. The Festival of Ridvan, celebrated April 21 to May 2, contains the holiest of days for Baha'is. It commemorates the anniversary of Baha’u’llah’s declaration in 1863 that He was the Promised One of all earlier religions, thus establishing the Baha'i Faith.

Or to put it in Christian terms, He is risen indeed!

Thank you, Esterbex :D.

A very nice Easter weekend to you too, to gross, and to all FPNers alike.

Pity about the talk.

When you sign in, remember to click on the little box with "Remember me" next to it. This way you don't need to sign in again, as long as you browse FPN ar least once every three days.

You could also use a sticky note in your diary or on the computer screen of course, to make things easier.

I am glad it now works for you.

You do realise that it's in the 'drifts' that the 'Warm Fussies' hide!

They sit there and jump on you when you're least expecting it, and pounce on you, a bite from one of those little 'suckers' can be pretty drastic. The side effects can be nasty, and the end result is the dreaded 'stiffness' which can last for a long time after the attack!

So my advice to you is to keep your eyes peeled, for the 'Warm Fussies'!

See Yawll!!! :ltcapd: :roflmho:

So it's my understanding that Mr. Simpole will be in attendance at the Raleigh Pen Show. And he is to demonstrate his overlay techniques to lookers on. Is it unseemly to ask for donations along the roadside to fund a journey to nirvana? :notworthy1:

Dear 'Addicted' one!

If you are going to make the journey to Nivava [Raliegh N.C.] do be very careful while travelling along the roadside of the dreaded 'Warm Fuzzies'! They are cunning little suckers, and can cause frightening side effects following a bite from one of them! I'm told that the 'stiffness' that occurs can last for an extremely long time, and does involve some quite arduous treatment before it is overcome!

I hope that your journey to Raliegh will be an uneventful one, and I will look forward to meeting you there.

Yours sincerely,

Truffle Finder. :ltcapd: :roflmho:
