I think you're on the wrong thread Ghost Plane! THis isn't the SOL pen thread!!!

This all got started because of the Itsy Bitsy phsychotic spiders got talked about, then people suffering from stiffness following treatment for the spider bites! All really useful stuff for everyone to gain as much knowledge as possible when contemplating a trip to the Little Rock Pen Show!

Anyway, It's always a pleasure to see you again no matter which thread your on at the time!

  • 2 weeks later...

I just thought I would 'butt' in here to let you all know that the Little Rock Pen Show was fantastic!

I sold well, during the proceedings, and was made to feel extremely welcome by the organisers, and also by the other participants and guests.

I demonstrated my piercing, and engraving skills at the show, which seemed to go down very well with those who were interested, some even drew up a chair to sit on while I was doing it, so that they could get a good look!

Everybody was indeed very friendly, and were generally very pleased to ask intelligent questions while I was working on the silver.

I even got to appear on a daytime TV program on my second morning there, which was interesting, the interviewer even referred to me as being the 'Rock Star' of the Pen World, quite an accolade!!!

I'm also pleased to report that I didn't suffer from any spider bites or any unwanted 'stiffness' as a result of unexpected spider encounters! :roflmho:

I forgot to mention, that I was unfortunately not called upon to administer my mouth-to-mouth resussitation skills on anybody, but there's always next year I suppose!

I told you not to let those purse-carrying American spiders worry you, Henry. They have jumping jacks down where Chris is.

Yes the spider thing was really nothing to worry about, it was the resultant stiffness that scared me!!!

The pictures are really terrific though, don't you think?

It really was as good as it looks in those pictures, everybody was so warm and friendly and welcoming to me, I felt like a very important person while I was there. A real 'ego-massage'!!!

I have a great deal of thanks to Miranda BTW!!!

Thanks for the pictures, esterbex! You have given us much vicarious enjoyment, and it's great to be able to put a face to all the names.

Sadly, Arkansas is too far to swim.

We did have just one whale who'd swam the distance to Little Rock, it was a little difficult to get him in to the show area, but we did manage to remove the doors, and get him in there!!! He was exhausted, as he explained the last 500 miles were the worst, as they were over land!

The organisers were very good, helping him [his name was Kevin! BTW!] to choose which pen he would buy, and although I probably shouldn't have indulged him I did accept payment in herrings and a substantial quantity of cryll [wrong spelling I suspect!]

But a good time seemed to be had by all!

See y'awll!!!

Just out of interest, did anyone get a photo of the Norwegian Blue Parrot at the show? He was accompanied by a bright cheery chap who explained that he wasn't feeling too well, as "he was pining for the Fiords," but I did suspect that something was not quite right when I noticed the nail through his foot which appeared to be fixing him to his perch!

"Now this really is becoming too silly for words!!!

How about the Spanish Inquisition? Anyone? No?

OK, I'll stop now............ Promise!!!

I suspect someone' s tea has been spiked....but I do recall the parrot fellow.... I did think it odd that the bird didn't move from its perch at all...hmmm. :hmm1:

"WHOOOOOOOOOOOSH!"

Now this is just getting silly again!

So now for something completely different!
