Little Rock Pen & Watch Show Thread!!!!

With an appeal like that from Esterbex, how could I refuse?

It is fairly obvious from what has already been written here that there is a lot of interest, and great enthusiasm.

The hotel looks good, and the surrounding area looks really interesting, I will be going.

See Yawll!

Yep!!! I thought that might surprise somebody!

I thought I might thoroughly enjoy the place, a little bit of a holiday, [as long as it doesn't scare the horses!!!]

I will be demonstrating my craft, to those who might be interested.

It actually turns out that there are a few people who I have met,[ from way back] when I used to go to USA pen shows quite regularly.

So I'm really looking forward to being there, it looks like a terrific venue.

Henry, I was most definitely surprised! I hope you enjoy Little Rock. It is a very pretty city, especially around the River Market District where the pen show is located. There are some excellent restaurants in that town as well. I particularly recall a delicious Brazilian cafe with an amazing fried yucca appetizer (I believe it was called Cafe Bossa Nova).

I wish I could attend the show--it would be such a treat to meet Henry and watch him work, but, alas, a road trip to Arkansas in March just does not look doable. :(

Has anyone ever heard of an overlaid Esterbrook Fountain Pen?

Rumour has it that there might be one at the Little Rock Pen Show!

No! I'm not teasing Esterbex.

I have nearly finished a black Esterbrook button filler, 'Relief' English type, and am at present doing a lever-filler, both will be in silver.

I think that it is going to be unlikely that I will be able to get them off to Neal to photograph them before I go to the show, but we'll see.Bearing in mind that they have got to go to the Assay Office to be Hall-marked.

See yawll!

  • 2 weeks later...

Only 12 days until I can ogle and hopefully fondle a Simpole or two....Not to mention those Esterbrooks aforementioned .... I think maybe the EMS should be on stand-by in case of heart palpitations....is there a defibrillator in that hotel?
