I seem to remember that there was some discussion about whether Conway Stewart did BB nibs, George's Jasmin pen has one, and being a 'Button-Filler', that pen has quite a large ink capacity. The design was copied from an Aitkin and Lambert 'reposee' patterned pen which Henry found at the Miami Pen Show about ten years ago.

Oh George! Congratulations! What a lovely pen...........beautiful pen!!! Nice handwriting too! Thanks for taking the time to post those photos, and for teaching TF about his computer!

Now we wait to see photos of FP's design for the Spirit Pen.

Glad that you like it Chris.

Truffle Finder has picked up the scanning business quite well, not so sure about Henry though - doesn't really matter as TF, being a close confidant of Henry, will probably be able to do it for him if he can't manage it.

Thanks for sharing the photos, George. I'll have to keep telling myself I'm not really envious as that pen is too big for me. Lovely writing. Imagine me trying to write with a BB nib, it'd just be a series of interconnected smudges on the page.

Must get saving for my Anglo-saxon pen.

I might just surprise you with the broad a nib I used for the letter that's about to head your way. The silliest thing is that it's on the tiniest vintage Dinkie.

Wow, everyone, the design is so beautiful and delicate. Congratulations.

Perhaps we should start a new thread telling everyone about the Spirit of Life pen. It is rather hidden here, and that way we may get some more people to commit to buying one.

This is getting exciting, isn't it?

Sounds like a reasonable idea, how would one go about doing that I wonder? And where would you put it [the new thread I mean!]?

Allow me! I'll start a new thread in "Writing Instruments" as there is no special spot for Henry Simpole pens *YET*

Thanks, Chris for the new thread. That means you can bear the brunt of all of those who will be in agony about whether they can afford this new must-have pen!

If you two don't stop arguing over whose fault it is, this thread will stick around forever!

(Not that that's a bad thing...)

As long as Henry keeps making new pens, this could go indefinitely. :cloud9:

It certainly could - I wonder now if there is anyone left who hasn't heard of Henry Simpole :roflmho:

Will post up some more impressions of my "Jasmine" a little later.

I don't know about your anticipation Ghost Plane, but Henry is waiting for the image of the script for the two Spirals which wrap round the barrel of the pen, with the 'Spirit of Life' prayer. Until that arrives nothing can happen. So the ball is in your Calligrapher's court! I think it's called the 'fine tuning' stage.

Yep. Trying to balance the writing so that it's understandable to those who read Arabic, as well as meeting Henry's high artistry, not to mention spacing it so that it wraps properly... Ain't easy! :bonk:
